Q: does this pickup need to be installed through a hole in the guitar body, or does the cable protrude from the sound hole (same as neo-d single coil)?

Hi there. This is the same as the Neo-D single coil so no need to install through the body of the guitar. best wishes. mark

Q: does this pickup have a volume control,because the product picture,says it does?

No volume control. Comes with a permanently attached cable for connecting to an amp or pedal or whatever.I was afraid of standing on the cable and ripping it out, so I fitted an end pin socket so I can use a standard cable.

Q: Will this pick up percussive sounds such as hitting the body of the guitar?

I would not think so,but,a Fishman soundhole blend pickup has a mike in it which would pick up percussive sounds as would an LR Baggs M1 active body sensetive one.Both of these are much more expensive though.

Q: Does it have an end pin jack socket which is mounted through the body of the guitar and acts as the strap button too?

No,it does not. It comes with a long cable with a 1/4 "" jack on the end.You can store the cable in the guitar when not in use.You must wrap the cable around the strap button to stop it catching when in use.This makes it removable and transferable to any other guitar.You can have it permanently installed if you wish with an end pin jack as I have done previously.If you do not feel comfortable doing that get a repair man to do it for you.
