Smells like cocoa for some reason, which is not unpleasant. It definitely helps with any itching or soreness. I do think it helped to shrink a particularly annoying and fairly large external pile that suddenly popped up out of nowhere, to almost nothing within a week. I only gave it 4 stars because I don't find it absorbs very well or quickly, as is claimed. Also while I am not personally allergic to balsam of Peru, many people are and it is one of the most allergenic ingredients to be used in skin creams, so I do wonder why Anusol have included this in this formulation?

this is a good product-soothing for 'piles'.

The tube is too thin. Splits open.
The product itself is very good. The problem is the tube. I have had two split open and the contents went everywhere.
