Product Description Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) Location: Patchouli is cultivated in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia and the Philippines. Extraction: Steam distilled from the dried leaves after fermentation. Colour and Odour: The essential oil is a deep amber colour with a persistant, musty, earthy and exotic aroma that is also very penetrating.This essential oil improves with age. Description: a bushy plant growing about 90cm with broad oval shaped leaves and purplish flowers. Background: Patchouli has log been prized for its strong scent. Used to scent shawls in India, this practice was copied by Paisley weavers after patchouli was introduced to Britain in 1820. It is important in perfumery as an excellent fixative.Patchouli was very popular as a personal scent in England during the "psychedelic" sixties. Properties: Sedative, tonic, anti-inflammatory. Uses: Nervous System- Of value in nervous debility, strengthening the nerves. Skin- Treats cracked skin and weeping sores, having mild anti-inflammatory properties. Also suitable for skin allergies. Lovely scent, good quality oil
A massage-therepist friend recommended patchouli to me for my unhappy baby as she'd just been researching it and discovered it has some fantastic properties. I'm really enjoying the scent. We use it in our atomiser, and in our baths. Not sure if it's calming the baby down... but it's calming Mum and Dad!This is a lovely strong essential oil, you only need a drop or two. Very happy with the product

Amazing smell
Love the smell. It is very strong, but everytime I put this on, it is so nice and fresh and relaxing. Loved it so much that I've used up my 2 bottles and bought another 2.

I've tried a lot of Patchouli oils over the years but this is the best one so far - you only need a few drops in your oil burner to really release the fragrance. Excellent value - I will purchase this again.
