which is the best decision they could have made
Would have given it more stars but the backwards Amazon rating system doesn't allow for the recognition of something that truly goes above and beyond. A standout return to the Pokemon franchise with a plethora of new mini-games and distractions that you don't really care about. They added more Pokemon and kept everything regarding that aspect the same, which is the best decision they could have made. Best game since the nerf to weather in Gen6.

Metal special edition case is cool!
Having just returned a similar item to the official Nintendo store, as they refused to send a missing part from a special edition, we were thoroughly pleased with this purchase through Amazon, arrived early, everything intact, £10 less than from the official store... who can argue with that?! Very happy & kids love Pokemon, have to save up and get the other one at some stage & the metal case was very well received.

Bit split on this one.
I cannot say to much on this because in comparison to previous Pokémon games, This one was below par. Not as many wild Pokémon as in previous games, Story line to easy and you get a lot of help in game. To much to soon, No HMs, or TMs. Z-power is a terribly executed diva tactic from a company desperately trying to implement changes to a game that isn't even a dying trend. No mega evolve breaks the continuity for me. It feels like mega evolve could've gone somewhere, And they've nipped it in the bud for Z-power? I do however like the Alolan forms of certain Pokemon, Meowth looks hideous in Alolan form and should be considered for a redesign. Very easy to skip battles you do not want to be in, Whereas older Pokémon games would make you do those battles whether you liked it or not. Which made the game more difficult and challenging. I feel as if the game has been purposely babyfied. It has been dumbed down due to newer generations having low I.Q. I also think that 3D wise they could've knocked this one out the ball-park and made it completely 3D instead of just having battles in 3D. Pokémon constantly calling for help or back up ruins the game entirely. Specially when you cannot throw a Pokémon when there is 2 or more Pokémon in the battle. Which also makes the game have an advantage while giving you a major disadvantage. The lack of gym leaders and whatever they're replaced with has completely rendered me speechless I have not seen so much of a stupid idea. I also did not like how Lillie did not get to keep Cosmog considering she was with him/she throughout the entire game. I felt like I had ruined a friendship, A bond and even tho it is just a game that actually bothered me. Cons: A lot of unnecessary changes/updates/new things, Not many Pokémon, Way to much in-game help you don't feel like you're using any brains.. --- Pros: They're still making Pokémon games, Great packaging, Great artwork, Great sounds/music. Very colourful and will appeal to a lot of children and colourful personalities. Quick Delivery, Value for money. Great addition to a Pokémon game collection. Despite my commentary on the game I genuinely feel some love for it, Only due to the fact that it is Pokémon.

It's a fun game with some great new mechanics and new Pokemon
It's a fun game with some great new mechanics and new Pokemon, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The only downside so far is that multi-Pokemon/Trainer battles can get extremely laggy.

Fantastic instalment in the series
Absolutely fantastic game. Long time gamer, and have been playing the pokemon games since the 90's. May be a contender for best pokemon game, or at least best in a very long time. Possible game of the year for 2016 and a wonderful refresh of the franchise. Lovely story and neat game mechanics.

Very nice new additions to a timeless formula
The game is unbelievably epic!!! Very nice new additions to a timeless formula. 3 year development was well worth the wait as there are hours upon hours of gameplay in this. This is easily one of the best games in the series. Steelbook is also very nice.
