Burg-Wächter KC20C 20 Hook Combination Key Cabinet

The cabinet looks neat and well-finished, has more than enough space for several keys for each hook, comes with stickers for the numbers and keytags. It screws ok against the wall, although I have used rings to secure the fastening. The loch works easily. It is not a safe (i would love to have something resembling a real safe with no batteries and only numbers to open it, but this doesn't seem to exist in this world). It won't deter a real thief with a big screwdriver, but as it is made from steel plate, it isn't opened easily and looks nice ageinst the wall.

This is a neat key cabinet, of good quality with a combination lock... saves having to keep a separate key for a lockable box but recommend that you use an easy remembered code. It came with a couple of small fixing screws and plugs, however, I chose to use something more substantial to mount it to the wall. Overall I am very pleased and happy to recommend it as a good value well made product.

This would have been 5 star if the mechanism for setting a new combination was more robust. I purchased this one as a warehouse clearance, at a reduced price, as I was looking for a deep box to hold a large bunch of keys. By large I mean the following; 7 standard Yale type keys, 2 x car keys plus a remote fob, 3 x mortice keys and 4 x miniature keys for garage door and filing cabinets along with a keyring torch, a trolley token and 2 decorative key fobs all on the same key ring! Yes, that's a large bunch but they fit in the cabinet well if hung on the second, third or fourth hook at the top. Obviously it reduces the capacity from 20 hooks but there is still enough room for my other, smaller, key rings with no difficulty. Overall the box is well made for the price but obviously not a high security key safe, it would deter casual opportunist theft and, as in my case, provide a way to keep a load of keys in one location without too much mess. I noted from previous reviews that some people had been unable to change the combination and I suspect that this particular one had been returned for that reason. On trying to move the lever from A to B to set a new combination I found that it would not move far enough in the slot to move up to B, and therefore a new combination could not be set. With a bit of fiddling I did manage to do this, I am persistent, by doing the following. Try to push the lever across the slot to move up to B. If it doesn't move across far enough then turn the knob on the front whilst maintaining pressure on the lever, you will probably feel the lever move a little at this point. If it has moved enough to push it up then continue with the reset procedure. If not, then maintain the pressure on the lever and turn the knob back again and you'll most likely find that the lever has now moved sufficiently to allow the reset of the combination. It would appear that something in that mechanism is just a little out of line and needs that "jiggle" to get it lined up in some cases. When all is said and done this box cost less than £12 so I would say it is excellent value for money despite this. I have seen it offered elsewhere at over £50 and in that case I would say that it was sadly lacking the quality expected at that price. Would I buy another? Should I ever have need of an extra one then at a price of less than £20 I would have no hesitation whatsoever.

Good little keybox but only the top row has the maximum flexibility and height to hold long modern car keyfobs or 3/5 level mortise lock keys. Supplied fixings are poor and have no shoulder, so they disappeared into my stud wall before I could get any purchase from the screws. Stuffed a couple of red (6mm) plasterboard fixings in instead and now solid as a rock. Even if someone rips it off the wall it’s pretty hard to get into without the combination so this in concert with some cctv should dissuade people from spending ages banging away at it in situ or running around the neighbourhood trying to work out how to open it. Recommended.

I'm going 4 stars, even though the hinge is a little wobbly. As wobbly as it is, tye door is still very secure! In terms of features, what can you really ask for for a wall mounted locking key box? It's got a lock, it's secure, it's easy to use. It has enough hooks for your average household of keys. It's spacious enough for bulky key sets but not so bulky it looks out of place on a wall. Comes with fittings for the wall, but they're wood/masonry fixings, so you should ideally be mounting this on your wall through a stud or brick. If not, then you'll need to get some plasterboard fittings, but I wouldn't really recommend fitting a secure box into plasterboard. Anyone with enough drive will get this off a plasterboard wall. Not much else to say. It's a box for keys with a number lock. Changing the code is easy too.

Bought this to try and turn it into a faraday box for the car keys. It will not block signals out of the box so I lined it with aluminium tape. It blocks the majority of the signal from a car key but not 100%. The hooks are spaced a little too close together for the average set of keys, or even just a single car key but it does what I bought it for and also keeps the kids out. I haven’t bothered setting the combination as there is little point IMO. Neat little box for the money but it’s certainly not a key safe.

Conforme à la description. Une dimension suffisante (small) pour ranger ses clefs. Fabrication de qualité. Réglage du code hyper facile (petit bouton a l'intérieur a changer de position de A a B pour créer son code et a remettre en position A pour le sauvegarder). Je k'ai installé à l'extérieur a l'abris des intempéries. On verra comment le barillet supporte l'humidité marine !!! Au prix vendu, au pire je le changerai 😄
