Conte Paris sketching pencil Pierre Noire
This is the deepest black sketching pencil I ever used. Black hole. I used many brands, Generals, Derwent Drawing, Faber Castell Polychromos black colour pencil, Arrtx black coloured pencil. All of them are good pencils, no vomplaints. But they don't even come close to the blackness of this one, truly remarkable.

Ordered this pencil to get really good blacks in my sketching but found it a very very gritty pencil as though it had not been ground enough

Are they genuine?
This is a 2B but seems very hard. The quality of the charcoal core seems poor and very scratchy and doesn’t lay down on the paper well at all as expected. They were cheap so I suppose you get what you pay for!
