PanPastel 5 Colour Starter Set - Painting Set

I have really wanted to try these for a while but because they are quite expensive I kept on putting it off. However I eventually decided that I could do quite a bit with just the primaries and so took the plunge and bought this basic set.Well, I will no longer complain about the cost that's for sure. Despite the pans being quite small, this stuff goes a long, long way. Obviously it's still quite expensive to set up with a good selection of colour but now I have seen what good value the pans are I will be more willing to pay that outlay.With some trial and error I was able to get not only shades of the primaries but of secondaries and, to a lesser extent, tertiaries too. They really do mix like paints, but this is still a limited pallet and though it has shown me how well they mix, it's obvious that for any serious work I will need more colours. If you were concentrating on something like house florals you could probably get away with just this set and maybe an extra green but it would be more work than necessary when so many other colours are available, and it would be quite limiting.I have yet to receive my blending medium (from another seller) so I haven't really seen just how versatile they are but I am already impressed by what can be done.The greatest thing for me is just how quick they are to lay down over a large area. I detest doing backgrounds for my coloured pencil and soft pastel work but these make it a breeze. And colour pencil and pastel go over the pan pastels (and vice versa to an extent) meaning they really do make my life so much easier.My pans all arrived in good condition and although I have used them quite a lot, hardly any pastel seems to be gone.As you can tell, I am very happy with these and will be buying more Pan Pastels.My only regret is that I didn't try them sooner.

Really useful in providing a base layer of pastel chalk. The colours are very good and should last quite a long time so are worth the money. The applicators are a little fragile and don’t clean easily so be careful. All in all an excellent addition to my stock of pastels.

One of the pans was crumbly

These pastels are gorgeous, very rich and great for background cover. Hopefully they will last quite along time as they are very compact. I really enjoyed using them, and hopefully will build up my collection. This package is a great starting point and you can blend to make other colours. I just think they are very expensive and the bigger sets are ridiculously pricey. But if you want to experience a deeper more vibrant colour process with pastels then spend your money and enjoy.

This product is kind of expensive but it is a good investment in the long run. They last longer then regular soft sticks. You can blend them easily to create new colors. I recommend you to buy the started kit instead.

Son muy suaves de aplicar y los colores hermosos. Cuesta un poco combinarlos pero deja una textura suave.

J'étais persuadée que la boîte et les pastels ne supporteraient pas la livraison et belle surprise pas de casse (boîte protégée par une petite feuille de papier bulle. Je recommande ♥

Ottimi pastelli che hanno la consistenza di un fard. Sono veramente eccezionali e, presenti sul mercato in svariati colori e nuances, permettono di fare disegni strepitosi.Si applicano con le apposite spatolette oppure spugnette per campiture più ampie.Sono coprenti e si possono miscelare sul dipinto stesso. Per ottenere ulteriori tonalità si possono miscelare fra loro su una tavolozza.Per fare i particolari del disegno uso i pastelli della Carbothello che sono estremamente compatibili con i Pan Pastel.Questi colori danno il meglio di sé se usati con carta Pastelmat.Sono un po' cari, certo, ma vista la qualità e che ne basta veramente poco per fare un disegno, direi che ne vale senz'altro la pena di acquistarli.
