SynopsisJohnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack's only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.Bonus MaterialDead Men Tell More Tales: The Making Of A New AdventureA Return To The SeaTelling Tales: A Sit-Down With Brenton & KayaThe Matador & The Bull: Secrets Of Salazar & The Silent MaryFirst Mate ConfidentialDeconstructing The Ghost SharksWings Over The CaribbeanAn Enduring LegacyBloopers Of The CaribbeanJerry Bruckheimer Photo DiaryDeleted Scenes (4 in total)

A first class Pirates romp. Maybe the best one yet.
I watch films to be entertained and I seriously wondered whether another 'Pirates' film would be as good as the last. I decided to buy the film and watched it today. I have to say that I was delighted with it. The CGI, acting and storyline are all superb. I was gripped by the film the whole way through and there is the usual comic lines throughout the entire film. I cannot find anything to criticise and I thought the whole package was first class. I will certainly be watching it again in the near future. Whoever thought up this storyline has a wonderful imagination and the CGI was taken to another level. In fact I cannot recall another film where the CGI was so good. I give it 5-stars and recommend that you add this film to your library.

Loved it
Firstly, to all the naysayers who have whinged that this is not as good as the first film (a regular complaint about all subsequent POTC films), I think you are talking tosh. This is an excellent end (& it does really need to be the end) to the series. It neatly wraps up all the strands of the multi-character story. It's well filmed, great action and effects, realistic enough to not drift off into mawkish sentamental dross. The one complaint is replacing Keith Richards with Paul McCartney as Jack's "dodgy" relative was a bad call. Paul McC just can't act so luckily he only gets about 2mins. Other than that, this is another great family action / adventure movies which unfortunately aren't made often enough.

Pirates of the Caribbean, So very Tired.
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favourite movies of all time with some fantastic humour (thanks mainly to Johnny Depp) great set pieces and a fun story for all ages. However, with each new movie the series has progressively gotten worse so my expectations were quite low. So, with that being said, is it as bad as I first thought? Well, yes and no.The movie follows the story of Captain Jack who is searching for the lost trident of Poseidon that can break a curse that (yet again) Jack and co need breaking. The story is not ground breaking in anyway but it is considerably better then the last couple of entries. One part of this movie I find tedious is one of the female leads. She has a genius level intellect which many people think makes her a witch. At first this is quite funny as she will say something intellectual and the other people will frown and say “You’re too clever, you must be a witch” but this ‘joke’ is repeated over and over again throughout the movie. After a while you start to know when that joke is coming.Johnny Depp’s, Jack Sparrow is of course the main draw of the whole series but at this point it is beginning to feel a little old. He does get a laugh most times but you can’t help but feel you’ve seen it all before and in many cases better. For me though the biggest problem with this movie is there is no real sense of danger to the crew. They don’t feel like they are in a rush to get anywhere and seem to just plod along from A to B. In all the other movies there did seem like a need to get somewhere in time whether it to beat the Spanish, save a loved one or find an old friend, they all moved along. This movie feels like it just goes on yet is the shortest entry. The pacing is frankly, terrible. Although, the last thirty minutes are fantastic and it really is a shame that the rest of the movie is not like this. The special effects are excellent as to be expected but yet again, we’ve seen it all before. The Zombie style pirates, the exploding Tall Ships and even the action scenes in this movie, which are great but they seem to be more slapstick then the previous entries, which I’m not sure always works for the best. Now I understand that my review seems quite negative and I understand that but the movie really does feel like the same thing we’ve seen five times now. It’s not a bad movie at all just, well, disappointing. So to summarise, the film is a good family friendly bit of fun that doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you switch your brain off for a couple of hours you will enjoy it. However, for the more cinema savvy you may want to skip this one!I can see why many think this will be the last entry.B-Also, kudos if you got my Simpsons reference in the title!

Captain Jack does it again!
Big fan of the first 3 films in this series so bought this at Easter to complete the set. Had seen it at the cinema but hadn’t remembered too much. Watched it on my new 55” tv, munching a bag of popcorn and Easter egg - had a wonderful afternoon! Johnny Depp the usual quirky, silly but lovable Captain Jack, hugely funny scene when he’s stealing the bank (literally, the whole building!) and altogether a very enjoyable romp. Recommend to all fans of the series.

Good film, visual treat
I got a bit bored with the whole Pirates thing, they seemed to run out of ideas, but, this one is surprisingly really good. Excellent entertainment and on the bluray, incredible sound and amazing picture quality, you could easily use this as a demo disc. Yeah, good film, maybe the best of the series?

Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge
Great Movie but I don't understand why the movie was titled differently in the US as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and released outside the US as Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge.
