Perfect for beginners
I have been using balisongs for years and this surpasses any beginners balisongs I have had experience with. Pros: - Durable, beginners will drop this plenty without breaking it. - Amazing quality-to-cost ratio, you're getting great quality at a cheap price. - Stunning design, most cheap options are solid colour and bland - this has a beautiful dragon engraving. - Has a functioning latch! Many cheap options also do not. - Long lasting hinge, both of mine still work after several years of use and dropping - You won't hurt yourself with it, it's a trainer! Cons: - May require cleaning, comes out of the box a little bit stiff. Give it a quick clean and perhaps learn some basic tricks with it and it should be good to go. Perfect option for beginners, someone interested in balisongs, sleight of hand training, or even just display!

Its a good trainer balisong my only complaint is that the latch ...
Its a good trainer balisong my only complaint is that the latch doesn't actually lock the balisong after a little bit of use because the spring is so strong it just pulls it back up into the unlocked position this isn't a problem with the open lock position but with the closed one it is its very heavy and sturdy but you have to be careful not to hit your knuckles because the handles are very heavy compared to other bali's you also have to be careful when closing it I actually cut my thumb because when I closed it my finger was a tiny bit to close to the middle of the balisong so be careful when you are closing it fast also since it is so heavy expect to get bruises on your fingers for the first couple of days but anyway its a good product nice and sturdy and I would recommend it and for those who say that the handles get stiff my one didn't so maybe you're just not using it enough also if you do have that problem just put on a little bit of oil to the joints or something

Pretty good training knife!
I've never used a butterfly knife before, and so I chose this one as my introduction to using them, and overall, I'm happy with the product! It came in it's own little case, and the pattern and overall look of the knife it pretty cool! I've been using it for a few days, and while it sticks slightly when spinning, the durability seems solid, and It doesn't rattle yet! I would recommend maybe loosening the screws or using WD40 to make it smoother, but overall, pretty good starter knife!

Broke within 2 months
I give this product a 3 star due to the trainer working very well in the first couple of months. As a training knife it should be good to withstand a bump or two, or a fall to the ground. However over time (2 months) this knife has lost the middle pin in one of times it has been dropped to prevent the blade from spinning free itself. The trainer also has no way to tighten the bolts as after a while they get loose. So my butterfly trainer is loose for the rest of time now- I had to buy another one. I liked the design and style, and I liked that it came with it's own velcro bag to keep it safe, which is the reason I opted to buy this product, however I realise I have just wasted money on this. NOT value for your money, even though it looks pretty. Won't work as an actual training knife as will break, and become useless. Could use it for decorational purpose at best.

It's durable.
Have had this item for 5 years now. Daily use, constantly using it to fidget. Unlike a lot of other trainers, this one hasn't broken. Two parts have "broken" but were very easy to fix: The locking mechanism at the bottom The stopper at the top - tiny metal insert you can simply glue and shove back in The only "problem" I have with this is that it's noisy but, it's a solid metal butterfly trainer so that's to be expected. I only see this as a problem as I fidget at night while watching shows and the walls are thin in my home. Absolutely recommend. This was the first of many trainers I bought and it's lasted me a long time.

how is this legal? it's so thick and strong, with a little sharpening it could be a real knife!
this is really strong - very well made, very heavy and solid. it comes with an awesome fabric case and has beautiful design. however, i am a little concerned by just how strong it is. if i had a little patience and a whetstone, i could easily sharpen its blade to be a proper knife - am genuinely surprised selling something like this is legal. but if you want one of these, i don't think you will find better quality at a better price. If you do choose to buy this, do note that you should oil the pivots. you can use any oil, i used olive oil. The weight is the only reason i am not giving a 5 star as if it slips and hits you or your fingers it will hurt. but for beginners like myself I would reccomend this to someone.

Nice, but gets a little sturdy
Amazing design and great for beginners, however gets a little sturdy and stuck sometimes when flipping and needs a little nudge for it to go down but if you have locite then am sure it will be fine, recommend if you a low budget.

The knife is very smooth while flipping but the only problem was that the first few minutes I had the knife It didn’t flip at all but other than that really good starters knife

It pinches me a lot and locks all the time

There's no spring lock and it doesn't really look like the picture felt like I got ripped off but overall still a good blade take the lock and belt clip off and it would be much better product
