Welcome addition to my coffee portfolio
This is a distinctive coffee. I have been buying it from Waitrose regularly before it was destocked. This version is very flavoursome and not as strong. Very enjoyable

Don't subscribe.
Beans are good quality, however, made the mistake of subscribing and received two items within 5 days of each other and unable to return one.

Rich, strong and aromatic coffee with bitter chocolate and wine notes. Needs an espresso machine or stovepot for best results.
These beans are medium to dark roasted, fresh and glossy, with a strong aroma. Best ground fine and used in an espresso machine, or in a stovetop pot, they make a strong, dark aromatic brew with lots of bitter chocolate and deep, wine like flavours. You can never accuse this coffee of being thin or acidic. It packs a real punch. If, like me, you're a bit of a pussycat when it comes to strong, black coffee, this one is quite forgiving if you dilute an espresso shot with an equal amount of boiling water and add a splosh of hot milk to make a good mugful - this rounds out the bitter chocolate flavour and gives you a more gentle, well flavoured nuttiness. I wouldn't recommend using a cafetiere with this coffee though, or for that matter, a drip filter - IMO, you just end up with a rough, dry brew, it needs to be made properly to get the best out of it. This is a big bag of richly roasted beans which keep their qualities well if stored in a freezer tightly sealed in their original pack. Just take out what you want to grind, and put the rest straight back, and they'll be good for a couple of months, at least.

Great coffee
Excellent flavour to this coffee. Definite favourite within our household, frequently re-ordered.

This is not just a brand name, the coffee ...
This is not just a brand name, the coffee is unique to the Malabar Coast of Karnataka and Kerala and has protected status under India's Geographical Indications of Goods Act, with a history that goes back to the time of the British Raj. If you fancy a bit of romance and a pungent, full bodied taste and a musty, chocolatey, nutty aroma then this is the coffee for you.

Lovely tasting coffee
We love this coffee, well my husband and my son do (I don't really drink coffee), we tend to find a lot of coffee beans jam our bean to cup machine as they are quite often sticky. These coffee beans do the job great.

Poor quality, way past their best
These beans have a harsh, ashy flavour either because it's too long since they were roasted, they've been inadequately stored, or both. They're not eligible for return so that's £18.99 of my money wasted at a time when I can't really spare it. I'd recommend only buying beans online if you can verify the roasting date. You can see in the photos that compared to fresh beans, these are dark and oily meaning they don't grind correctly and taste terrible
