Absolutely brilliant
I got this to use when I go down to the hides at the wildlife centre near Cardigan when using my camera and the 150-600mm lens, it clamps onto the shelf by the openings and it's very very sturdy. I would highly recommend this clamp.

Super clamp is super
I want to give this 4 stars because it is so much beefier than I expected, but I can't because it's another great Manfrotto product that does what I need it to do. Wish that the angle of one clamp relative to the other could be easily adjusted. Not a big deal for me, but others might want that. Used it to mount a GoPro on a gimbal attacked to an 18" pvc pipe. Held fast and stayed put.

Why hadn't I heard of this sooner!?
I've owned cheaper clamps before which haven't been bad quality, I just wouldn't trust them to be clamped on anything but a desk or table. This on the other hand... Gains my trust fully and I can see why it has been getting so many good reviews!I actually only stumbled across this product because I've recently been buying some Manfrotto products and was so impressed with the quality (and some of which have price tags that want to make you cry), that I decided to just search for other Manfrotto products and stumbled across this which I thought was actually very decently priced!Depending on your needs, you may want to go for the Camera Stud which has a 1/4" & 3/8" screw mount to enable mounting of your camera or ball head etc...The quality of the clamp seems seems extremely high in quality, apart from the leavers which are made out of fairly tough plastic, the rest is all metal and feels completely solid.I found the clamp easy to set-up and the grip it provides is phenomenal. When people said they can't do without they really aren't joking. I'll be bringing mine wherever I go that's for certain!

Great versatile product
Fantastic clamp that I use with a ball head and I clamp my camera to railings poles etc the only downfall of this device is it doesn't open wide enough to clamp to say a wall or brickwork it's only good enough for poles and railings tables etc as longs as its slim enough to fit in the jaws obviously.. the item is well built and made and is very hefty bit of kit. The are 3 downfalls of the item 1 the little clip on plastic part that fits on the back of the item which is used to place in the jaws for flatter objects that is very easily lost as it keeps popping off and is quiet expensive to replace for a bit of plastic.. 2 the lever is made of plastic and not metal like the rest of the device so when you are really clamping it down I dont wanna go to tight incase the handle snaps or strips the thread out on the lever. And 3 when unscrewing to far the bolt falls of the other side which they could of made it so it dont fall to bits and the bolts fall out cause you will loose this in the dark if you try to undo the jaws to much.. hope this review was helpful.

Don't leave home without one
I've used Manfrotto products since 1978 because they're reliable, flexible and durable. The Super Clamp is a proven product and universally used by professional photographers and film-makers the world over so buying one was a no-brainer. This particular purchase was made as we needed to support a video camera inside a rally car being used with a Mini Ball Head with the RC2 quick release plate and clamped to the safety cage (as it wasn't convenient to weld a plate to the roll cage). Once tightened up it was absolutely rigid with no movement taking place whatsoever. For safety reasons, and to avoid damage if the clamp did fail, we tethered the camera to the roll cage using a couple of steel wires. It has subsequently been used clamped to a door to support a remotely controlled Nikon D810 which it did without any issues. We have also discovered that when clamped onto the handle of a Screwfix Double Cup Suction Lifter (Screwfix pt. no. 6299P) we have been able to attach a camera to windows, bodywork (flat side panels), mirrors, tiles and other smooth surfaces. Delivery was brilliant being within 24 hours of placing the order. It was delivered by a delightfully friendly and courteous delivery driver.

Solves so many studio challenges
I was happy to take advantage of an Amazon promo offer to acquire yet another of these clamps at an excellent discount. These clamps are so versatile when working in any sort of studio environment. Whether the need is to mount lights, camera, backgrounds or almost anything else, these clamps will prove invaluable. If one of these doesn't help solve a fixing problem it probably means that you haven't yet worked out how best to use it: they are simply so versatile. However to enjoy the best of this versatility you do need to buy the mounting spigot(s) too. (Some packages include the spigot too, so check exactly what is in the package you choose.) Having used these clamps for years I am happy to report that I have never suffered any form of failure with one: unfortunately that is definitely not the case with some of the slightly cheaper but vastly inferior products supplied by cut price suppliers sourcing inferior goods from the far east.

Solves all sorts of problems
When I first started buying these clamps, the price seemed astronomical and I kept looking for more economical ways of doing the job. I never found one. With a few of these, you can easily construct special rigs for lighting, backdrops, props and camera mounting. They'll grip practically anything -- square, flat or round -- and the result is immensely stable and rigid. You'll need spigots or studs so that you can attach lighting units, camera mounts and other things to the clamps, or so that you can attach two clamps back-to-back and use them as an immensely versatile joint. (There's a selection of spigots and studs in the Amazon photography department.)
