Smart product
Looks good, scares away birds, but the birds came back after a few days, they are smarter than they look. Even with the owls head moving. Good product though, as there are less birds in the garden now, we need to move the location of the owl every few days to keep the birds away.

Surprisingly Effective Owl Decoy — Seagulls Beware!
I bought this owl decoy out of sheer frustration with a neighbour who insists on feeding seagulls daily. I was sceptical at first, but decided to give it a go and I’m glad I did. The gulls were not happy. Within a day, they stopped landing anywhere near the neighbour’s front lawn. It’s been oddly satisfying watching them circle and then retreat, clearly spooked by the owl’s presence. The decoy itself is a decent size for the price and impressively lifelike even from a distance, it looks convincing enough to unsettle the gulls. The head movement is wind-dependent, so it doesn’t rotate often unless there’s a decent breeze, but that hasn’t stopped it from doing the job. In fact, it’s been so effective that the gulls now seem reluctant to perch on any of the nearby houses. Pigeons, on the other hand, are less impressed they occasionally perch next to it like it’s a mate. But pigeons are seasoned veterans when it comes to ignoring decoys. Overall, well worth the purchase. Bonus points for the quiet joy of knowing my neighbour is probably wondering where all his feathered friends have gone. Highly recommend if you’re dealing with persistent gulls!

Don’t waste your money
Do not waste your money, I found it doesn’t work. Also very poor quality, plastic piece that gets fitted at the back of the head loose. Non effective on geese, starlings, thrushes.

Pigeons not scared
Its not scaring the pigeon away. I took a picture and the pigeon is just sitting there not scared.

This works but it took a few weeks to reach full effectiveness
We bought this just over a year ago to watch over our new garden sofa which became a pigeon magnet immediately after we bought it! It looks reasonably realistic but the yellow colouring on the breast is a bit unusual. We started by placing it on a coffee table but without weighing it down by filling it with sand as recommended and not surprisingly it kept blowing over in the wind. A £1 broom handle from the hardware store satisfyingly whittled down to a sharp point to stick into the ground solved the problem as soon as the owl perched on the top end. The pigeons were initially undeterred and we added in a “Stop Bird Pro” device. The combination of the 2 deterrents was 100% successful after a few months. The Stop Bird Pro battery ran flat but the pigeons have not returned and I think the owl has done the trick. The head does rotate as advertised but only if you spin it with your fingers - not in the wind. Buy!

It does not really work unless it is paired with ultra sonic repellant
I first put it up and after the first two days of use there was still lots of fresh new pigeon poo all over the affected area. The owl is large and the head does not really turn unless there are strong bursts of wind. That said I later put up three ultra sonic repellants with a frequency targeted at birds. Since I have paired this with the owl there has been no new fresh pigeon poo and I am really hoping this could be the end of the nuisance birds.

Fantastic has really helped with clean windows
I was getting pretty fed up having to clean our top floor flat roof windows as I could only open them about 10 inches. To clean them I have been using a strong dowble sided magnetic window cleaner on a ladder inside the room. To clean four windows takes me about 1.5hrs and a very stiff neck and back. It seems as though local seagulls love sunbathing and depositing on the windows. After having just cleaned them and one day later they were covered in seagull deposits I looked for something to help. I found these imitation owls but was a bit sceptical. We are in a windy area so I purchased two owls, two breeze blocks from B&Q, 1 metre threaded rod with nuts, large washers and some concrete mix. Filled the owls body with fast setting concrete through the bottom. Inserted some threaded screw through the bottom and into the concrete and let it set. Then drilled a hole through the breeze block and but a counter sunk hole on the bottom of the block to accomodate the washers and nuts. The first time mounted on the roof I found the head did not move enough so cut out a plastic box lid in the shape of a vane, painted it black and mounted it on the beck of the owls neck. Then up the internal ladder with difficulty pushing out the breeze block through the window gap then mounted the owl onto the breeze block and tightened the owl to the block. I have put one owl at each end of the windows ie two and now three months in not a single seagull or pigeon mess on the glass. Seriously I am overjoyed at the effectiveness of this solution. We have named them Ollie & ‘Oward our new owl friends.

Very effective
This is a good size and seems to be working really well. In my opinion it could have a slightly smaller hole to allow it to be affixed around the garden but a larger one probably does allow for more flexibility. It does also need moving every few days, rather than weeks, but since using we have seen zero pigeons on our lawn (leaving a mess) until they figure it out and we have to move it again.

Messo a terra funziona meno.
