Waterproof Outdoor 13A Storm Switched Single Socket IP66 Outside Use

I purchased this to attach to the outside of my house. It doesn’t come with any fixings, this is not an issue for me. The sections for the wires etc just push out with a screwdriver. It is well made and from durable materials. Being completely waterproof is it perfect for outdoor lights to be plugged into as a permanent fixing. The lid closes and locks with a plug in it, the ones with the clear lids don’t do this very well. It had a 13 amp fuse in the internal socket and also has a switch. The price is far cheaper than the likes of B&Q and Homebase.

Good value, well made product. A little fiddly to get on wall, partly due to living in an old cottage with stone walls. Looks solid and has kept out thunder storms in last two days! Arrived well on time and well packaged.

Good value but I found that the neoprene cover gasket was a poor fit in it’s slot and tends to fall out when cover opened (might improve with time?). Also the knock-outs in the box side are flimsy - I applied sealant to top knock-out to ensure it won’t leak. Summing up - I won’t buy same again.

Bought to replace a trailing socket for outside (waterproof) use. Absolutely meets that need with an easy to seal case, connections and with a cable gland added the cable. Has a quality standard BS socket inside so conforms to all requirements. Only downside is that it is a bit large and 'clunky' and I wonder how long the sealed cover locking mechanism will last....But so far (just a few weeks) fine.

the main body of plastic is good quality. But the flimsy seal comes adrift. But the realy bad news is the flip up cover , when lifted up detaches from the hinge point. very disappointed very annoying consider I had spent time fitting it and need to use it ! looks like I will have to poly bag it up to stop the rain getting in!

Can't really fault this item. It was easy to fit and came with all the accessories to plug the holes. Seems to give good waterproof properties and has easy push out sections at the bottom for the wires.

What might not be immediately clear is that unlike many outside sockets, you can leave the three pin plug in place, its waterproof rubber seal around the cover protecting it. Don't of course leave the other end attached to something electrical in the rain! In my case we run the fishpond water pump from it, night and day, rain and shine. It does mean we can disconnect it to mow the grass or use power tools outside.
