LAYEN 'i-CHARGE' - Bose Series 1 iPod / iPhone / iTouch Charge Adapter - 12v to 5V Power Converter for Docking Stations / Speakers - Suitable For Car Charge Adapter Use

I have an old (2007) Audi TT and the 30 pin apple dock (with adaptor) wont charge my IPhone 6 so I thought I'd give this a go and hurrah - it works! I can now use my IPhone as a media device (using a genuine Apple 30 pin to lightening adapter for the DAC, as fakes don't work) on my car stereo and charge it at the same time, it's getting a little on the long side with 2 adapters but hey! - so I can now use Tomtom Go without fear of ending up on a country lane with no idea where to go. The device has a micro USB socket to 'sideload' 5V into your device, presumably if the voltage supplied is a little on the low side although I didn't need to do this. Just need to find a sensibly priced Bluetooth adapter that will work and I can leave the cables in the glove box. I tried an Mpow Streambot Idock but that doesn't work, but then it doesn't work on any of my old ipod docks!It's probably a little expensive for what it is but it works and these days I often find most stuff doesn't!

Thanks to this product I could use the  LAYEN - Bluetooth Audio Adaptor / Music Receiver For BOSE, Sony etc. Docking Stations - Create A Wireless System By Streaming Your Music (Requires No Separate Charge) Cheaper Smarter alternative to the Lightning Adapter  in order to upgrade my Bose and play music from my ipad and iphone. The product is exactly as described and works perfectly.

This simple device (ASIN: B00BM3UCRA) allows me to break free of using iTunes and iPods in partnership with the LAYEN i-Sync Bluetooth adaptor.With a NAS and a desire to make do with what I already have, I wanted to continue to use my existing dock and speaker system ( Podspeakers - Micropod SE iPod HiFi Dock System (TD002) - Black  (TD002) - Black by Scandyna - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000IWNZFW). I also wanted to free myself from the 'Apple Walled Garden'.To that end, I purchased the  i-SYNC by LAYEN - Bluetooth Audio Adaptor / Music Receiver For Docking Stations  and plugged it into the 30 pin connector on the Scandyna The Dock.No light came on on the small black device with the Bluetooth logo. I thought I'd have to return the device for a refund and junk the digital amp/docking station.However, I decided I should first speak with the nice folks at LAYEN (Kirsty). I explained the dock I had and though she'd not heard of it she suggested I try using this step down adaptor, which I am reviewing now. Without my asking, she also offered a 2 pound refund (the difference between buying the items separately and buying them together) and included an SAE if it didn't work. Great service! The item arrived the next day, today.Well, I plugged the two items together (sadly they are not exactly the same size - a slight overlap) but the important thing it does work as a two part solution.So if you have one of the older iPod docking systems (with Made for iPod logo on the box), you could do a lot worse than trying out this two part solution:  Bose Series 1 Audio Receiver Solution. Turn Your Bose 1 Bluetooth: Stream Your Music Wirelessly AND Charge Your iPod / iPhone - Dock not included! .tl;drFor 40 quid I can now browse my music collection on the NAS sat on the sofa using my Android tablet and play it through the dock, no problem. There may be cheaper solutions out there, but I can recommend this combo (link in paragraph above). The sound quality also seems very good, if not HiFi - we are talking about compressed files of c.320 kbps for the test I did.Overall, delighted as I hate the idea of not using equipment that still sounds great and didn't really want to have to start saving up for SONOS or similar.Hope this review helps others who find themselves in possession of an older docking system such as Bose SoundDock 1 or Scandyna's The Dock.

Arrived super quick just trying to work out how to pair it with my new headphones as it didn't come with any instructions.

neat bit of kit, works well. slight bit of backround noise on start up but dissapeares after a second or two.transformed my old bose.

Don't normally do reviews, but am delighted with this little gadget.I have a 1st generation Bose Sound Dock (fantastic sound quality) and bought a 30 pin Dolry HiFi stone from Amazon to try and turn it into a high quality (non-bluetooth) Air Play speaker rather than consign the Bose to the skip due to connector issues (30 pin rather than Lightening, and also the 30 pin didn’t charge later iDevices).Was really disappointed that the Amazon Dolry listing at the time didn't tell me that it wouldn't work with my first gen Bose due to my Bose not providing the right power outputs.In my frustration I jailbroke my first gen iPod touch (which the Bose does charge) to try and deploy the AirFloat app from Cydia to allow me to turn it into an AirPlay receiver, however the iOS limitations on my iPod (3.1.3 max) wouldn't allow me to deploy AirFloat as it needs iOS 6 as a minimum.I also didn't want to go down the bluetooth adaptor route due to the poor sound quality.This little gadget allows the Dolry to work with my Bose and bingo I have a high quality AirPlay speaker for a fraction of the incremental cost of buying a new speaker with AirPlay embedded.Am a happy camper.

I purchased this device for bluetooth purposes, it does nothing to any of my ipods in fact a waste of time & little money

It worked perfectly for half a year, and then suddenly stopped working.

funziona benissimo con il mio sounddock serie 1 tipo A che ha ancora sistema di 12v firewire con questo adattatore riesce ricaricare anche prodotti con ricarica a 5v. Grazie a questo adattatore si può ridare vita a Bose sounddock che sia ad un vecchio ipod touch o un iphone, e tutto insieme usare come un micro Hi-Fi, iphone si puo essere usato per riprodurre la musica con apple music, sfotify o da youtube, inolte questo adattore rende compatibile anche nuovi adattatori bluetooth 5.0 30pin

Ich habe den Adapter für das Ipod-Integration-Kit in meinem Benz gekauft, da dieses weder mein Iphone noch einen neueren Ipod laden wollte (altbekanntes Problem dank der Firma mit dem Apfel-Logo). Und siehe da, mit diesem Adapter lädt endlich mein Iphone während des Musik-Abspielens!Der Adapter ist etwas "groß", aber das stört in meinem Fall nicht, da der Anschluss für das Kit im Handschuhfach liegt.Fazit: Produkt funktioniert - ich bin happy :)

Funciona perfecto para adaptar la carga a nuevos Apple, con conexiones antiguas. Utilizadado para la conexión existente en el coche: alpine.

Giorni di ricerca e ci sono riuscito, finalmente ho un bluetooth audio in auto.La mi macchina aveva un'uscita a 12 v grazie a questo ora è a 5v e l'adattatore bluetooth funziona da dio.
