Excellent Ukulele
Excellent Ukulele, great tone, well worth the money.Makala are the lower priced range from Kala. The concert size is a little bigger than the traditional Soprano ukulele, but still has the classic ukulele sound. The larger fret board makes it easier to play and it is louder than the soprano model. It is definitely worth spending a bit extra for this Ukulele, the quality is really good and it holds its tuning very well. The strings that are fitted are also excellent quality.

Amazing uke. Shipped way faster than expected, though packaging was damaged in transit
Luckily the ukulele remained fine but the packaging/box is kinda beat up. Sound is very full and the uke Patil plays very well even on higher frets. Great ukulele that will hopefully last me for a long time.

Best ukulele for the price
This is the second ukulele I've purchased, the first being a similarly priced Stagg US10 and I can assure you that while both will work for beginners, the Makala is going to accompany you a lot further on your musical journey (especially if you swap out the original strings for some quality ones). The Makala has solid build quality and, especially considering the price, excellent sound. I found this really important as if you are just starting out there is nothing as encouraging as a well played chord ringing around the room. Ukuleles like this make an ideal present for anyone musically minded as they are reasonably priced yet produce a joyful sound and can give hours of fun. I heartily recommend!!!

Pleasing Ukulele for a low price
As a novice to the world of ukulele playing I was not prepared to spend too much on a ukulele. However I didn't want to go for one of the really budget ukuleles so decided to spend a bit more and get the Kala Makala. Based on the advice a few of the reviews I also bought some Aquila strings to go with it.I found the ukulele had quite a nice clean sound and much preferred it to my friend's Mahalo Ukulele. I also thought the strings weren't too bad; after about 2 weeks they settled down and it no longer needs to be tuned every few minutes. They are also softer and more forgiving on the fingers than the Mahalo strings. I have decided to save the Aquila strings until either a string breaks or until I improve a bit in my playing (whichever comes first).I would definitely recommend this as an entry level ukulele. I love it.

Excellent little ukulele, especially for the price.
Nice low nut so the strings are a nice distance from the fret-board, this makes it very easy (and rewarding) to play for a beginner. In the few weeks I've had it I've enjoyed learning to play it immensely. It's of high enough quality that you'll actually notice when you are improving combined with a low enough price that if you don't take to it you wont be too out of pocket. Highly recommended, especially as a first ukulele.

Its pretty good
I would say I play the uke a lot, but I'm not professional or anything. I've just moved to the UK and left my old uke in Singapore, so I decided to buy a new one to keep here in case I travel back and forth a lot. It would save me the hassle of bringing 1 ukulele from the UK to Singapore and vice versa. It arrived on time and packaged well, so it wouldn't be damaged! This is one ukulele that needs to be tuned time and time again at the start as it keeps going out of tune, which to me isn't normal for any new ukulele, but many have said it is common, so I was expecting to have to tune it a lot. The uke has a nice finish, wood feels good. However, sometimes the sound tends not to sound like what I'm playing, depending on the force I use to press the strings, and I normally don't have that problem with other ukuleles. However once you've gotten use to how much force to use for whichever chord you play, its nice to play. Sound isn't too bright but isn't too deep, its inbetween! Not too bad a buy, but I was hoping for more. However, its definitely better than expected when buying a ukulele at that price.

Well Worth The Money- excellent quality, appearance and lovely resonant pleasing sound.
I'm so happy with this item that I took the time to given well deserved feedback. I bought it as a gift for my 30 ish sisterExcellent serviceExcellent packaging and speedy deliveryExcellent itemLovely sound even with the stock strings- nice and resonant- you do have to tighten up the gears a little first as expected.Uke is pleasingly compact and despite having a 'deeper' soundbox- is still nice and small. The colour and build are lovely, both in appearance and build quality.A genuinely lovely gift which I imagine would work for more than a beginner. Fab!

Great buy
My first ukelele - it sounds good, looks good and makes me feel good - what more could you ask? Very happy with this purchase. It does seem to be one of the better entry-level ukes, judging by the others I've had a go on. It comes with cheap strings which actually sounded fine to me. (I did change them for Aquila strings as recommended by many but am too much of a novice to be sure how much difference it made.)

Pretty good
As described; maybe better. A ridiculous short turn around for delivery, was exceeded.Magnificent sound, luthier critique; nothing to complain about with fret ends not intubation, out of the box.Loving it, so far (not long).

26-in Kala Makala Tenor
The ukulele was meant for my son who has just started his musical journey. The sound quality is very good due to use of quality tonewoods. In my opinion ukulele being a 4 string instrument needs to stand out due to clarity of sound and Kala Makala just delivers that. We are satisfied and would recommend it for other entry level aspirants.

Sound is perfect.
This product is great for begginers. The string sound GCEA is just as it should be, you can tune it using an online tuning app too, it works perfectly no need to purchase tuner. It doesn't comes with a bag or keys but at this price the quality of this uke is amazing!
