Wireless Carplay Screen

I've had the unit for about 5 months and have been very happy with the performance. Have been using it mostly for wireless Apple CarPlay navigation and streaming in an older car (2015 Kia Soul) that doesn't have CarPlay capability. The screen is bright and clear and much larger than the screen in the OEM radio so the backup camera that comes with the DVR provides a much better high resolution view. The DVR also has a built-in forward facing camera (unlike some other models I was considering buying) so that simplified the overall installation.To get up and running and ring the unit out I originally mounted it to the dash with the telescopic suction mount but that would get loose and floppy due to the weight and size of the DVR requiring re-adjustment and re-tightening every few days. I just replaced that mount with the more sturdy stand mount (that also came with the DVR) connected with screws/nuts to the dash to follow the mounting surface contour. I also routed the wires under the dash to the backside of unit for a cleaner installation (see photos).Customer support with this seller is mostly via their Facebook page where they post instructional videos and other info such as notification of available firmware updates. I requested and received one update file which was provided via a Google Drive link within a day of sending a DM. Installation was straightforward with the instructions provided and the on-screen prompts on the DVR during the process.This DVR is a great option for older cars to avoid an expensive head unit upgrade. And there's been a $50 price drop since I bought my unit so a bargain for all this modern tech.UPDATE: I originally bought this DVR to get wireless Apple CarPlay and a better rear view camera and display than the OEM unit but now realize how important and helpful the dual camera recording feature is. Since I posted this review the car I installed the unit in was rear ended while sitting at a stop light. The DVR recorded the accident from the front and back cameras perfectly time synchronized showing the stop light was red and a car hitting the rear bumper. Very helpful in detailing the accident and settling the insurance claim.

Works good and you can get support through Facebook messenger to get your car logo on the startup screen. CarPlay was not offered on my 2015 srx so this is very economical to get the functionality of CarPlay. It does sometimes work through Bluetooth with great sound either from iTunes or pandora and all other apps that show on the screen. I recommend getting some 3m double sided body mounding tape if your place of mounting is not flat I put 2 thickness of the tape on the bottom of each side to make it work with the hump in the middle of my dash and it is strong and sturdy. Overall I like it and the screen is beautiful and the front camera has great resolution. I am thinking how I’m going to wire up the rear camera. I would say get it!

Pro: Cost effective and quality product for my old minivan,the airplay function is very nice and the touch screen is responsive. the phone call is clearCon: while the video quality of the rear camera is not bad, but 1) the included two screws are way to flimsy and got broken easily and I had to use much bigger ones so I could test it. (see the attached photo); 2) the cable for the rear camera is long enough even for a minivan, but the reverse trigger wire is way too short for minivan as the plate is on the power lift-gate; so the reversing camera function is not available. 3) the voice control to show the camera did not work, maybe I have overlooked something. 4) as reversing camera is not available, the reverse line function is not available even I have completed the reverse lines calibration.BTW, the resolution of the screen is too high, maybe good for showing pictures, but the text size is getting too small to read even with this 9.3" screen. it will be good to be able to adjust the font size.conclusion: a decent and cost effective product combining multiple useful functions (e.g., CarPlay, front and rear cameras) for old vehicles

This will not pair with my 2013 Nissan Sentra SV's Bluetooth rendering it worthless to me. I don't want to listen to music over this thing's tinny speaker instead of my car's speakers.It came quickly. It included everything stated and a suction mount that could be used for window mounting. The instruction book is beyond vague to the point of being more of a waste of paper than anything else. The instruction book said the unit did not come with a SD card but I did find one installed and it did work. Both cameras worked though I didn't get to the point of properly aiming them. The dash camera showed a lot of hood from where I wanted to mount the device but the dash camera can be moved slightly up-down-left-right. Turning wifi off on your phone, as my phone was set to do whenever I leave my house, turns off Android Auto as this thing connects more via WiFi than Bluetooth but once I adjusted that setting on my phone I found that once it links Bluetooth to your phone there's seemingly no way to get it to look for a second device such as a car or another drivers phone. I even tried factory resetting it about 4 times before I opted to just return it. My quest for updating my car to have functional wireless android auto continues.
