Philip's Navigator Britain: Spiral (Philip's Road Atlases)

Outstanding detail
This is my third Phillips Atlas purchased only to replace the one that was in my car when Billy Burglar made off in my vehicle. Whilst Satnav is helpful it does not provide the detail you find on the pages of this Navigator Britain atlas. It has helped me find obscure locations over many years of driving in the UK

Simply the best out there.
The best I have ever owned. The detail, information and clarity of the maps are all 5 stars.Very highly recommended indeed.

Simply the best
Simply the best paper (none electronic) UK road map you can get in a single volume.

Excellent alternative to a Satnav!
Love a good map! This is more than a good map it’s excellent.

Excellent detail as described
I wanted a map book that showed detail of villages and canals as I live on a narrowboat but occasionally have people coming to meet me. They need to know which roads will bring them to where I am located. The ring binding allows all pages to lie flat. Not something you can easily rest on your knees due to its size but excellent for route planning.Good value

Highly detailed road atlas maps
Highly detailed maps - the inclusion of farm names is very helpful. However, the atlas is very heavy, so rather unwieldy if you need to refer to it when driving solo. The margins on spiral bound maps also mean a big gap between pages, which can be annoying if the area you're looking at is right in the middle. The atlas includes a long list of city centre maps, but the scale is so small they're hard to read, so not very useful (a strange contrast with the very large scale of the main maps). The weight, and the water damage my copy sustained when delivered, mean I have returned it. I will be looking for a shorter, lighter road atlas instead.

Large scale, so easier to read.
Well pleased - bought to replace a previous Navigator bought many years ago. Probably the best available

Not enough detail
You can't really find your way as n adjust to sat nav. as it only really shows main routes in enough detail.
