Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series finds the Targaryens ruling over the Seven Kingdoms – and on the brink of a civil war within their own house. Prior to the birth of a son, King Viserys sent shockwaves through the kingdom and declared his daughter, Rhaenyra, his heir. Once a healthy boy entered the picture, plans were afoot to make sure she would never sit on the Iron Throne. Now, with schemes hatched on both sides – and the kingdom in the balance – viewers will see the house that dragons built and learn how they tore it all down.Over 70 minutes of bonus content, including two featurettes exclusive to DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHDWelcome to WesterosReturning to the Seven KingdomsA New ReignReturning to WesterosBefore the Dance: An Illustrated History with George R.R. eagerly anticipating the release
I was eagerly anticipating the release of House of the Dragon, and I can honestly say that it exceeded all of my expectations. The first season is a masterful work of television, with incredible writing, acting, and production values that make it one of the best shows of 2022.The story takes place in the world of Game of Thrones, but it has a fresh and unique feel to it that sets it apart from the original series. The characters are complex and engaging, with their own motivations and desires that drive the plot forward. The performances by the cast are outstanding, with standout performances by Emma D'Arcy and Matt Smith as the Targaryen siblings Rhaenyra and Viserys. What impressed me most about House of the Dragon was the attention to detail in the production design. The sets, costumes, and special effects all combine to create a fully realized world that feels both familiar and new. The action sequences are breathtaking, and the dragons are rendered with incredible realism and detail.Overall, House of the Dragon is a must-watch for any fan of fantasy or television in general. It's a thrilling, epic adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this incredible show, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an immersive and exciting viewing experience.

Loving the picture & sound
You buy a 4k set because you have a 4k TV (ideally OLED) and a sound system to show it off (e.g Atmos surround). Thankfully the set compliments these thing very well. It’s a gorgeous looking show that clearly has a massive budget. The bonus? It’s actually a good show too, great actors and well written. It was rightly a success for HBO and they’ve put out a quality set to do it proud. The only downer? No commentaries, however this hasn’t been a thing for a while. It’s just a shame as I remember Game of Thrones sets back in the day getting one or even two per episode sometimes. The added extra making of’s are well put together and insightful though ultimately inessential versus the main event. I rarely return back to making of’s personally so see them only as another nice added bonus to add to the overall value.

Great series on 1080p
I came to this not having seen any of the series and was very pleasantly surprised. After the disappointing climax to GoT I was a bit wary of a this prequel but it has turned out really well. Hopefully they can continue in the same vein for however many more series they end up making. Although only 1080p and not 4k the image looked stunning watched on a 55" OLED TV through a 4k BR player. I therefore assume the transfer has been done very well. Usual type extras.
