MAGMAProducts, R10-626 Storage Rack Kayak/SUP Boat Mounted, Polished Stainless Steel

We have a trawler with 1-1/4” stainless rail stanchions that are angled from the deck. Perfect fit, very sturdy fastener hardware, and easily adjusted to hold our kayak firmly when underway. So easy and quick to get the kayak in and out of the rack that I know we will use it a lot more now. Potential for dissimilar metal corrosion between the stainless steel hardware and the aluminum knobs for tensioning. I plan to periodically remove and Apply a small amount of waterproof grease.

Used to store my kayaks on the bow of my sport cruiser boat. Always a pain to take on and off every time I took the boat out. Not to mention scratching the boat up.Now the kayaks are neatly stored on the racks. Easy to remove the kayaks. I experimented with leaving them racked and going out to sea (with strong bungees), but probably not a great idea. They held up OK, but I felt like they could slip off with rougher waters. Also, cuts your visibility while underway. Nonetheless, a great way to store them and get them off the deck while docked.

Would’ve been 5 star review but the package was missing a nylon lock nut. Luckily I was on my way to the hardware store so not a huge deal. The product seems like the typical high quality I have come to expect from (and pay for) from Magma. I can see why some customers complain about scratches on the stanchions but as long as you are careful to loosen the mount before adjusting the angle, I don’t see it happening. I look forward to a winter in the Bahamas with our paddle board safely stowed!

We love this rack for our paddle boards. We have two 12-foot Yolo boards, including the fishing board, which is thicker. We're using the racks on a Pearson 36 with a 13' beam. We wondered if we could mount the rack on the inside of the lifelines because we were concerned that we would hit the pilings as we come into the slip if the rack were on the outside of the lifelines. It fits perfectly and--because the arms can be folded in--snugs the boards in for sailing. We move the boards a bit aft for sailing to avoid interfering with the jib sheet. Our only complaint is that the foam began tearing within 2-3 uses, but we're just going to cover it in Sunbrella.

Love this product but its properly designed for tubing that is straight up and down. If the railing support is at an angle that so is this product. My only suggestion for improvement would be to allow the bracket to be able to rotate. Other than that great product.

This could be a perfect product as the base stainless structure is fantastic. The outer covers disintegrated in three years (in the sun). It would be nice if Sunbrella was used instead for more durability. It's $130 with shipping for two pairs of replacement covers. They use Sunbrella on their grill covers, why not this product? Additionally, the aluminum knobs will seize to the stainless bolts unless you are careful to use Lanocote or something similar (in salt water). My biggest complaint is that the product does not have protective nylon shims to keep from scratching the stanchion--they are a separate purchase and hard to locate. Simple enough to make something if you are so inclined.

Great design and functionality but covers won't last 1 year in the sun, disintegrate. No replacement parts available. You will enjoy it shortly.
