Very helpful for learning how to fly an aircraft and to pass the test.
Using this book is the fourth attempt to study for my exam, and so far, by far, the best. There is a brief explanation of each subject, then related questions. I especially benefit from the explanations to the question's correct answer. Often the explanation to the correct answer clarifies the detail for me. Many questions also offer explanations as to why the "wrong" answers are in fact wrong, and this is sometimes also helpful. In some cases, there are several questions that are almost the same with the same answer but stated in a bit different manner. I assume they are trying to give us various possibilities of wording that may be used in the test as well as ensure that the question and answer are well understood. I am liking this book, learning lots of information from it and gaining confidence that I will be well prepared for the "real" test. I feel this is giving me the knowledge I will need for the test as well as for safely and professionally piloting an aircraft, not just a bunch of answers that I can memorize while actually not understanding them.

Well, that was easy
This book really made it easy. The PHAK and FAR/AIM were highly necessary but this book helped me stay focused on what I needed to know for the written. I passed with an 86% and the exam took me about 45 minutes to complete. Once I got out of that test I pulled the book out of the plane and tore it to shreds. It felt good to be done with that phase of my training.Get the current book because this one doesn't cover basicmed. You'll need to know that in case you get those questions on the written, but there will be a few questions on it on the oral too.

Excellent Supplimental Study Guide!
Went through the King course for PPL but bought this for additional review. Excellent we'll laid out study guide, not sure if I would use this as my sole FAA knowledge test prep, but well worth it.

Essential
If you are a new student it's great because it covers every aspect of the PPL course, if you already are a PPL it's a nice way to review your knowledge. It's a must (and it's also great for CFIs to train students with this nice database of questions)

Great test prep resource!
This is like having a paper version of Sporty's Test Buddy. The great thing about this book is that after the answer there is a very brief excerpt from the FAR AIM explaining the reasoning. And before each section, there is usually a few paragraph setting up the topic. Comes w/ free practice tests too.

Contents is ok. But the paper is unacceptable.
The book has a lot of defective. Also, in the testing supplement missing page 77 and page 78.UPDATE, this book is helpful for the test. Some questions are same in the real test.
