The best heating pad I've ever used
Well made. The material is soft and flexible. This is not like your typical heating pad (heating elements, wrapped in plastic with a washable outer cover.) The pad heats up quickly and contours easily to the body part to which the heat is being applied. Its large size covers most anything needing the heat treatment. It shut off automatically after about 2 hours, though I've yet to use it that long. It does get very warm, the lowest setting is all that I've needed. The heating pad is washable and can be dampened to apply moist heat.

Have learned to like this particular heating pad!
This is my edited review, as I was initially disappointed with the heat settings (just hig/med/low vs digital # settings), however I discovered that it actually is very good. It does not have a “stay on” option but turns off @ 2 hrs, which at first I didn’t like, but I realize it is a great safety feature.

Tried twice - these heating pads don’t work!
I had a similar heating pad (same size, shape, general construction) that cost a little more than half the price of this one. It lasted for more than a year, but eventually it stoped working. I decided to replace it with this one because I recognized the brand name and based on that, I figured it might last longer. It arrived quickly, and looked very nice - soft, pretty color, seemingly good quality. During the first use, it heated and remained in on for approximately 20 minutes before turning itself off. The optional auto shutoff was disabled, but even if it hadn’t been, it should have stayed on for 2 hours. My mom happened to be visiting and she suggested that I should try unplugging it and also unplugging the cord from the actual pad before plugging everything back in and trying again. She said she had a similar heating pad and sometimes had to do that. I tried this, but nothing happened. I tried the same method again after about 30 minutes and it worked that time. But again, the heating pad functioned for about 20 minutes before turning itself off. And again I was unable to turn it on again afterward. The following day I was able to turn it on after performing the annoying multiple unplugging and re-plugging exercise, but this time it stayed on for only about 5 minutes before turning itself off. After 30 minutes, I tried again. I unplugged, re-plugged, pressed the power button, and the power button became unattached from the control box and fell into the inner space of the box. I attempted to return it, but realized it wasn’t returnable. I contacted customer service. They said they would send a replacement and that there was no need to send back the useless heating pad. I figured this had all been a fluke and that there was no way the sane issues would occur with the replacement. I was wrong. During the first use, the heating pad remained on for approximately 20 minutes. I was unable to turn it back on after it turned itself off. After 30 minutes, the absurd unplugging and re-plugging exercise worked. This time it stayed on for approximately 10 minutes before turning itself off. Since that time, the heating pad has functioned for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time and no more than once per hour. As of yesterday, it wouldn’t stay on for even a full minute. Another thing that was happening (even when it wouldn’t stay on for a full minute) was that the control box would get very warm any time it was plugged in. I didn’t notice this with the first heating pad, and didn’t notice it initially with the second, but eventually I realized that it was a thing. I read the 1 star reviews, and apparently I’m far from the only person who has experienced these issues. A few reviews suggest that this is caused by keeping the heating pad plugged in when it isn’t in use. That was definitely not the issue in the case of either of my heating pads. They absolutely came out of the box with their problems and functioned improperly from the first use. They also weren’t left plugged into the wall when not in use. But even if they had been, it isn’t acceptable for an electric appliance to function only if it’s unplugged when not in use. Can you imagine a lamp that had to be unplugged between every use? I’m guessing the heating up of the power box is in some way related to the malfunction and I actually wonder if it’s even a safe product. Regardless, it is a terribly flawed product that should be recalled and reworked before being sold to anyone else. I’ve just ordered a similar version by another brand for the same price. No reviews say anything about this sort of problem. I highly recommend that you keep looking and buy another heating pad.

This is a keeper!!
This heating pad is large, soft, and most importantly, works beautifully!! I wasn't sure if it would be as good as our Sunbeam but I can truthfully say I like it so much better. It has better controls and heats fast and gets warmer than the Sunbeam so you can set it on a lower temp and still get great results. I can't say how durable it is but it appears to be made very well and the controls are very easy to use. I recommend it!

Large, comfortable heating pad with strong heat coverage
I’ve been using this Sunbeam XL heating pad primarily for back and neck tension, and overall it’s been very effective. The larger size is a big plus—it covers a wide area, which makes it much more comfortable than standard-sized heating pads, especially for the lower back or shoulders. The heat settings warm up quickly and provide consistent, soothing heat that helps relieve muscle stiffness after long days or workouts. The fabric feels soft against the skin and is comfortable enough to use while sitting or lying down. I also appreciate the auto shut-off feature, which adds peace of mind if you tend to relax or fall asleep while using it. On the downside, the controller cord can feel a bit stiff and slightly limits positioning, especially if you move around. The heat distribution is good overall, but it can be a little hotter in some areas than others. It also takes a bit of adjusting to find the most comfortable heat setting. Overall, this is a reliable and comfortable heating pad that does its job well. It’s a solid option if you’re looking for larger coverage and dependable heat for everyday aches and pains.
