Eerily Quiet, Well Made, Solid & Cool - This fan is a must buy.
This is probably the best fan I've ever purchased and I bought it for my grandpa for Father's Day! I plan on ordering myself one eventually. It fans at a surprisingly good distance and is eerily quite! The only turn off is that I do prefer some fan noise when I go to sleep and you will not get that with this fan but in the grand scheme of things, this isn't a complaint just am observation for those of you who like the fan and its sound at night. This fan is amazing and my grandpa has been cool this summer! In the brutal Texas heat, you can have the AC on but if you're like us, you still need a fan.The assembly was also fairly simple if youll read the instructions first. Took only a matter of minutes and it was up and running as quietlyas a fan has ever been.

WOW....what a fan....
This fan had a little pricier tag....FOR GOOD REASON...it is so quiet if you didn't feel the flow from it..you wouldn't know it was in operation..It was super easy to assemble..has 5 speeds with remote control...the old saying ..you get what you pay for ..has never been more true when it comes to quality verses ehh...it has all the bells and whistles in a fan....Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y...I will never purchase a different brand...BTW...I own 2 of these...

cool and quiet
One of the best fans out there for the money. We love the remote that controls speed, timer for the fan to run and most of all..It's quiet. we use it in our bedroom. this is my second one.

Nice fan
I found this fan to be heavy, not flimsy. The motor is quiet with more of a hum when it runs. It is quieter than any box fan I have. That makes it nice for sleeping. The only complaint I have is the method that you raise and lower the height on the fan. You have to grab the column and turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to unlock it and then raise or lower it. That’s awkward for me. But most important, it’s painful for my slightly arthritic hands to do that without pain. In addition, I have to bend over and get under the fan to turn the column. It’s just awkward. I prefer the style where you can just turn a little knob on the side. I am not returning it because I am happy with the quietness, the remote, the airflow.

Better built than the last model but hums too much
Wow, this thing is way better than it's Honeywell HS-1655 predecessor. It's very solid and heavy and just looks so much nicer. Plus it feels like it's mostly metal compared to the plastic of the previous model, especially the base which is very heavy. It also seems much quieter than the previous model and the blade shrouding is much sturdier. Really it's like night and day.I just hope it has a better motor than the last model, I'd only get about a year out of one of those. As a side note, I also bought the Honeywell HYF290B Quiet Set Whole Room Tower Fan for my son and that thing is total junk compared to this. It's very light and cheap plastic, noisy, and doesn't really blow that much air. It's so bad my son told me he'd rather have his old failing HS-1655 than the new fan. So back it goes and I'll be getting another HSF600B for him.Edit: So after having this for a few days, I'm noticing the hum that other people are talking about. I keep my fan on 3 or 4 all the time and the humming sounds like it's coming from the motor. It actually echos throughout my room so it sounds like some kind of motor running outside. I just listened to my old HS-1655 and that doesn't hum at all.The sound doesn't bother me while I sleep but during the day it's annoying. Not sure what to do with this thing? On a positive note, thankfully they got rid of the beeping sound when you use the remote control. They also made it so the blue lights dim considerably a few seconds after you use the remote, which is great at night. Without the hum this would be the perfect fan.Another Edit: Wow, the humming seems to be getting louder and is unbearable above 2. At 4 or 5, the humming echoes through my room so much that it hurts my head. Between this, the Honeywell HYF290B fan (which I hate), and the two Honeywell MP10CESWW A/C units I recently purchased (both defective), I think I'm done with Honeywell.Edit Sept 2019 - Already starting to take forever to start spinning and the motor is getting really noisy. Going in the trash. I'm done with Honeywell.

I own 3 of these!
This is the best pedestal fan on the market, in my opinion. It is easy to assemble. It is also very study so I never have to worry about it tipping over. While running, it is the most quiet fan I have ever used. I especially like the remote control for fan speed. Unlike other fans, the cages can be removed for cleaning dust which can build up over time. The blade is also simple to pull off if you need to clean it. The only thing I would improve would be to make the metal levers that hold the cage together, easier to use. I had to use small pliers to operated them to remove the cage for cleaning the blades.
