I’d been considering a “minimalist wallet” for almost six months, but I just couldn’t break away from my good old fat leather bifold stuffed with every card imaginable. The change came on a recent trip when I thought I’d lost my wallet and started thinking how EVERYTHING was in it. While I fortunately found the wallet in our hotel room, I immediately got online and refreshed my research efforts on finding the “right” minimalist wallet for me and opted for the Dango M1 Maverick Rail wallet. There are so many options for these modern thin wallets and the Ridge wallet appears to be the biggest seller (or the one spending the most money on advertising). Regardless of what I was looking at, I kept going back to the Dango brand as I really liked variety, unique design, overall functionality, and look. Another thing about the Dango line of wallets is that I REALLY liked is the paracord carabiner tether that most of their wallets were designed to accommodate. This was a big seller to me because the size and heft of my old leather wallet was so easy to detect in my front pocket … until I thought I lost it. If I was going to use a “barely there” minimalist wallet, I still needed the added confidence of knowing I wouldn’t lose it, so the tether accessory had me sold on Dango. I chose the M1 Maverick Rail model primarily because it was heavily discounted (the M1 R-SPEC model was my first choice simply because I loved the red metal and carbon fiber design). I knew this was a quality product when I saw the packaging. The wallet is nestled in a metal tin with a card that details the wallet and how it functions and a braided paracord that can be attached. The wallet itself is extremely rugged and is constructed with aircraft grade aluminum (heavy duty protection without the heft). There are 4 openings built into the wallet frame (2 at the top of each side and 2 at the bottom) to accommodate the paracord braid (or a separately sold tether). This wallet can handle storing at least 9 cards … 5 on one side and 4 on the other. The rubber cash strap that wraps around one side can be used to hold more cards if necessary. One side of the wallet is open and offers no RFID protection. The other side has an aluminum slide that covers the cards for RFID protection. Even with 9 cards and folded currency, this wallet remains quite thin. I had to get used to the aluminum slide mechanism, but the cutaway on the slide is designed to make pushing the slide a smooth process. I highly recommend getting the carabiner tether. It is 10” long and can easily anchor your wallet by somewhat discreetly connecting to a belt loop. With the tether, my wallet is always attached to me, so I don’t have to worry about accidentally leaving it anywhere or dropping it. Overall, I love every facet of this wallet. Rugged without being heavy, secure/protective, appealing look, decent card capacity without adding thickness and thoughtfully designed functionality. I like that you can add the tether and they even sell an add-on multitool that fits this wallet design. While I chose the M1 Maverick, Dango offers a multitude of other unique wallet styles that incorporate the same modern functionality of the M1 Maverick. High quality and American made.

Easy to use quality card holder wallet. I like the look and feel. Barely noticeable in my front pocket. I do not like it for cash but I rarely have cash. It is very well built.

Awesome wallet, even if I did not choose it as my daily driver Have been using a previous Dango Dapper wallet for 7 years and it helped up EXCEPTIONALLY. Fully functional, but its included multi tool started getting stuck on things and ripping suit pants pockets, needed a more functional and easy card access replacement. I went with the Travando Swype because its smaller, easier to eject cards. But the build quality of this wallet is amazing as usual with Dango products. A tad too big for me, and it can work with metal cards, but struggles a bit which is the main reason I did not choose it.

First off, I love this wallet. It's exactly what I hoped it would be. I wanted a wallet that was in the realm of the stacking card style to make a super minimal size and yet functional. This one was the only one that provided that, plus a stylish place to store my door entry card for work that I don't have to keep taking out to use. It stores most of my important cards. I have a lot of cards I "want" to keep with me, but a few doesn't need to be with me all the time. I'll probably use this for a while and get the bifold spec ops wallet because that was my 2nd option, and should hold all of my cards. My wife thinks this is the weirdest wallet she's ever seen, and she's not totally wrong. It is unique for sure, but sure looks cool. It has a solid frame that doesn't feel like it will warp over time, and the overall size isn't much different than my old wallet. So it fits in my back pocket just fine without feeling like i'm sitting on a rock. Awesome wallet 10/10, will buy more in the future.
