Perfectly new looking for a 2nd hand CD
The CD arrived very quickly and it was well packaged to protect it. It came in perfect condition even with the little steel tag in it to stop it being stolen 🤣🤣🤣Box in perfect condition plays well and the price was astonishingly brilliant.Would buy again off this seller if they have more CDs I'd want to buy.

Stunning
When Achtung Baby came out I didn't get it, U2 almost became lost to me. I was so in awe of everything they did in the 80s the change in direction felt like a let down. I hadn't listened to the CD I bought in 1991 for many years but I've been going back to U2 recently. Now I realise what a great album it is and I did a little online investigating to seek out opinions on the vinyl reissue which were very positive. The original CD has a rather muddy sound with little transparency. To the best of my knowledge the 2011 reissues aren't that different, The Edge deciding to leave them untouched. This double vinyl release from a few years back is entirely new. Perhaps vinyl allowed changes which can't be achieved on CD. I don't know, I'm not an expert but this remaster is astonishing. It's not just a case of all the instruments and the vocals coming through so much better without that heavy dub feel where so much gets lost in the mix. With greater separation the soundstage is captivating, revealing new layers, textures and meaning to the songs which are so more powerful, chilling, thrilling and emotional than on the CD which now feels worthless. The personal crisis facing Bono and The Edge and the embracing of European musical trends reach you with a captivating clarity and depth. It's pristine vinyl, quiet, flat and it doesn't suffer from any loudness issues which allows the listener to push up the volume and really delve into the music. And it doesn't sound like some digital remaster slapped onto vinyl. It's got that organic, warm, wide open feel to it, free of that sharp compressed sound if you get my drift. Edge's guitar on Love Is Blindness really does sound like a dentist's drill, the bass on Mysterious Ways shakes the foundations of my house, I could go on and on. It's a band on a new high, reaching a fresh creative peak. If you appreciate this album, as I do now more than ever before, you won't be disappointed. It's an experience you will keep on wanting to return to. I just wish U2 would give this much attention to some of their other vinyl reissues. The 2017 Joshua Tree is superb but I understand some of their 80s LPs are just vinyl copies of the remastered CDs. The Unforgettable Fire which has a rich sonic palette has terrible reviews for the vinyl edition. And perhaps it is time for the band to take another look at Rattle And Hum - the only album of theirs from the 80s which has never been remastered. U2 may be a little ashamed of it but it's part of their legacy and a vinyl reissue would be very welcome.

One of the Best U2 Albums
Had this album on CD since its release, decided it was time to get it on Vinyl, the first copy i got from Amazon had a pressing fault on side 3 track 3, so I returned this copy, I have a strange feeling this had already been returned due to the missing Hype-Sticker and poster, despite this all the other tracks were superb, a really good dynamic pressing on 180g vinyl. Unfortunately another copy was not available through Amazon, but i managed to get a copy from HMV online. I can report this copy was 100% tip top condition, if your a U2 fan and into vinyl, you really should get this 30th Anniversary copy.

Not as well packaged as the previous deluxe editions in the series...
...which is a pity, because "Achtung Baby" is U2's last truly great album. This new 2CD edition comes in a fairly bog-standard digipak, not the mini hardback book/slipcase presentation of the first 6 deluxe re-issues. One less reason to buy then, given that "Achtung Baby" was probably the first U2 release which would have been intended to be purchased by default on CD: so many fans will already own a perfectly good CD copy. Even the booklet is not dramatically different from the one included with the original CD release.Still, at least the music's good. Though this is not my personal favourite U2 LP (that would be The Unforgettable Fire (Remastered - Deluxe Edition)), it is probably nevertheless their key release. It's aged very well - perhaps this was because U2 were one of the few bands of the early 90s to put out a successful rock record in the face of the pervading dance music culture of the time. Effectively, they had no choice but to innovate - the "old" U2 had become a dead end, artistically speaking, and they were by then too late to jump on the electronic music bandwagon (which the later Pop served to demonstrate all too well). As for the remaster, well I can't say it sounds markedly better than the last edition either - one assumes that a group of U2's stature had the means to produce a good sounding CD the first time around, albeit the technology has moved on. The bonus disc is mainly "for the fans"-type stuff which is of curiosity value only. It would have been better, I think, to have instead included a remastered Zooropa instead. Indeed, I understand that, at a price, the super and über-deluxe versions do include such a thing (along with a plastic Trabant, a "Fly" swatter and a pair of Adam Clayton's underpants - something like that, anyway). So if you already have "Achtung Baby" on CD from the first time around, you're not losing out. If you don't, I suspect you will find that the new remastered single disc will probably suffice (unless you want to own the aforementioned underpants).

Achtung! U2 need to buy this!
IMO U2's best album. Had it on vinyl when first out, which got lost due to house moves and have had it on CD which sounded terrible, but this new remaster is amazing!Sounds so much better. With great artwork.Comes as a double album but sticks to 33rpm speed so unlike many remastered 2 a' side albums.Honestly if you like this album this is the version you should own.No if's. No but's just Achtung Baby :)
