so far so good in my opinion
It's been almost a month since I bought the product, so far so good in my opinion. I still haven't received any negative from this keyboard like the other reviews has mentioned. I'll update this IF anything has occurred, but as of now my Matias Backlit light Silver Keyboard is working perfectly fine with Windows.--UPDATE: My matias backlight isn't as bright no more when I first bought it. It's been 7 months from date I purchase it. I'm starting to have concerns whether or not it's backlight will last me a long time, since I bought it for the main reason.-UPDATE: I tried to contact them, which I I got a response after a week later! They are very slow at being constantly replying to their customers. I suggest to look else where cause for a $150 device it should be working fabulously for at least years to come.

The concept is great; the aluminum keyboard is great but the keys themselves are terrible. I received this product yesterday and one of the keys had broken away from the keyboard. It appeared to be made of a cheap plastic. When spending this much for a keyboard it is expected to have quality parts all around. I returned it today under Amazon's generous refund policy.

Save your money!! Constantly disconnects and super laggy
I really wanted to like this keyboard but unfortunately after about 6 months it keeps disconnecting itself from my mac after about 5 seconds of being idle. Only when you hit a key will it connect after about a second or so. When it finally works and you're typing there are several random times of text lag which is extremely annoying Honestly save your time and money and get a magic keyboard or anything else other than this keyboard!!! I've also tried contacting them with no reply whatsoever ..so you've been warned.

Cheap keyboard with a big price tag. Avoid at all costs.
Not much to like, needs a hard strike, has to be woken up before a stroke registers, backlighting just surrounds the keys, doesn't light through them. A Logitech at half the price is a much better keyboard and while they may not be made for Mac they work fine with a Mac.And then it died. Won't work even plugged in now. Do not buy!!!!

Defective
I was able to get as far as pairing the keyboard to my laptop, but then the keyboard shut down and I am unable to turn it back on. I have ordered a replacement, but this experience does not bode well for the reliability of this manufacturer, especially when taken with other negative reviews.Naturally, I'll update this review when the replacement arrives.

Solidly built and backlighting is awesome
Great keyboard! Very robustly built. Backlighting is bright and has 10 levels. It also automatically turns off after 15 seconds. I set it to 20% which is more than enough. I do have two gripes though. First, you must press directly on the center of the key or else the key will loosen and want to pop off. It's easily fixed by snapping it back into place. Secondly, there are seperate batteries for the bluetooth and for the backlighting but there is only one charge port which means when you charge the backlighting battery it's also topping off the bluetooth battery. I guess that's not such a big deal since lithium batteries don't have memory like other types.

As a keyboard it is awful.
Keyboard quality is not good. I bought this because of the standout features 1) backlit keys, 2) buttons to switch devices. But the tradeoff is keyboard quality itself, which is poor. I'm coming from an Apple keyboard, and even the previous gen Apple keyboards are better than this. Seriously, it is really a bad keyboard. I'm now debating whether to return it, or keep it for the features I was after.

Wonderful backlight!
Love the backlight! the keys, and the feel of the keyboard. I find if I wait till the computer is fully on to turn the keyboard on, the computer sees it faster. The only negative is the Q key is a second number 1 key. I have emailed Matias Corporation to see if they could send me a new key.
