I am the original owner of a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder SE, this thing fits and it came quick. I also took a chance on 2 universal CAT converters @ $48 ish a piece and they worked. I was given a 900 quote just for muffler and resonator. In all I did CATs, both O2s, this system installed by a local guy for $197.

One satisfied guy and quiet Pathy
Ill start with the bad since that will be the quickest. The box it came in was beat to smithereens lol. I was worried before I opened it that the muffler and resonator would be all dented or bent pipes, but everything seemed ok to me once I opened it up to check it all out. The only thing was, the crush rings/gaskets that were supposed to come with it, were all missing. I don’t want to blame it fully on the seller, since I work at Amazon while I’m in college, I see how people treat boxes and merch, they just slam that stuff if they feel like it. So the box being beat up and possibly causing the gaskets to come out is possible from the shipper(Amazon) and can’t really be blamed on the seller(upsw auto) so I’ll take only a half star away since there’s no way to tell who’s at fault. Also the two pipes that meet the resonator and clamp into it, I felt were maybe a quarter inch to half inch to short. Really had to use every last millimeter to make a tight connection without there being a small gap. It worked but was a hassle having to squeezing thing together while also working impacts/ratchets. So half star loss for that as well. Overall not the hugest deals just little things that caused setbacks.Other than that, be prepared to deal with some of the most rusty bolts you’ve ever dealt with removing old ones, the 3 bolts on each side the exhaust that connect to the cats, they looked like pretzels, not bolts lol. I bought a dremel tool, just to cut the tips of the bolts off flush with the nuts. The insides of the nuts were still good and had thread to reverse a nut off with penetrating oil and a breaker bar to get started then finished off with an impact. You can actually put the old nuts right back on if you don’t strip them. You just have to cut the old pretzel of a bolt off flush with the nut. That was the most time consuming part by far. Took me 6+ hours just to grind/cut/breaker bar/impact/oil 6 rust nuts off. Jack the pathy up 6 inches in the front, you’ll need that dang room! Once those are off, the rest took me maybe 3 hours to do. Everything else with wiggling in, lined up and seemed to bolt on pretty good. I sprayed mine with exhaust paint before I put on so it had a little extra help to fight the elements away. In the end it is worth buying, at least for me. My pathfinder sounds so quiet now. I left it on for 20 minutes while I was washing up inside, to let the paint cure to the exhaust due to the heat baking it and activating it, when I walked back outside, I didn’t even hear it at first, I thought it had stalled on me while I was inside lololol. It’s really quiet. You’ll be happy if your willing to work for it 🥴
