We love this carrier. What’s more, our chubby Maltese loves it too. He is a little big and juicy for the breed (18lbs) so he puts it to the test! He loves being wheeled around in it and tolerates being stuffed under the seat in it very well- much better than the other carrier we owned. I have had two rotator cuff surgeries in the last three years and wish we had bought this earlier. Its so much easier than having to carry the chubbo. We only fly JetBlue but have been in three different aircraft from that airline and no problems at all. The only quibble I have with the design is that the removable floor support is a little touchy to reassemble as you prepare to get off the flight. This is not a big deal in my estimation so I still give it 5 stars but be aware that it will pay you to practice that operation at home before your first trip.

I originally bought this item for my 16 pound dog to ride in.....it is a bit snug for him. It would probably do for short distances, but I would not recommend it for long excursions. However, I also have a 6 pound Yorkie and she is totally thrilled to have this carrier---it is more than enough room for her to ride comfortably for a very long trip. The carrier is very well made and I am happy with it - other than it did not fit into my original plans. I wish they made a larger one to accommodate my bigger dog.

Ordered this because I seem to travel more and more with my 14 yr old chihuahua, by air and by car. Gateway weighs between 10 &12#s & he is one of the taller/longer chi types. I looked for a wheeled carrier that was versatile enough to use in-cabin on airlines, but that I could also use when I was visiting family, friends & dog-friendly establishments by car or walking. So far, this has filled the bill: it pulls easily, has heavy mesh on sides & front so he gets air & isn't confined in a dark space. It is supposedly "airline approved", but requires some alterations to be able to fit under a regular (economy) airline seat on a Tier One carrier - including a little creative smushing. When I remove a heavy wire brace & the wheel base, it does fit under an airline seat. At least so far it has. However, I don't find this procedure to be the easiest thing to do quickly. So I must allow a little extra-extra time on both sides of my flight to take wheels off & put them back on. The parts do fit in my tote bag/large purse/"personal item". Things I would change: 1) I wish the wheels were sturdier - I feel like they won't last long. The quality just seem cheap compared to the rest of the carrier. 2) Even though this carrier easily seat-belts into a vehicle, it doesn't appear there is a strap specifically for that. So does not secure in the best manner. There ARE a couple carrying straps, and backpack straps. (Very handy for non-paved areas.) I took Gateway to a dog-friendly restaurant with an outdoor deck this weekend. Several dog owners inspected the carrier with interest, especially since he was so obviously comfortable in it. I suspect some will be ordering it for their pets soon!

Great carrier for American airline flight. I was worried about it being big enough for a 20# french bulldog. Size was fine and wheels are a life saver!! Would be a tight fit for cheapest seats on plane. Luckily I upgraded all my seats to the ones that gave me a little more leg room. Wasn't that much more to upgrade and made trip much easier. Laid carrier flat and she slept the whole flight.

ZERO STARS!!! If you have a super tiny dog this might work for you - but make note of the other one star reviews so you are not surprised at quality. And when you want to return the item - you are charged a fee. Feel free to contact amazon since that is how it is advertised as a prime product with free shipping and free returns, but the bot at the end of customer service won't even attempt to be helpful.

Bought for travel. Ended up using for pet suitcase to carry doggy items in and out of motels and walked the babies in. My wife wanted to return it but I kept it in case we have an emergency flight to family emergencies but it would be tight.

This carrier is a lifesaver. My cat HATES his box carrier and will do anything not to get inside. This carrier makes it super simple! I can get him in and out without any problem and he seems far more content being transported in this carrier. While it is a little smaller than I expected and quite pricey for a carrier it is still a great product and I am very glad I got it.
