I love these kits.
I'm still intimidated by this project so I mostly just stare at it hanging out on my desk.

Wooden ship
Very disappointed! No directions. Parts are not to scale with each other. Cannons are way too big for the ship. Anchors are 3 times too long for the scale. With the Lazer technology I would have expected better. And one ship I never received and all I got was a run around with that one so I gave up on it. But for the lack of professional quality the price was ok I guess.

Still need some experience
I had just begun my first build of a wooden boat model. I originally purchased what was supposed be a beginners level kit ( so it was claimed ). After beating up this first model right from the beginning I thought I had better drop down to something easier and less expensive to gain some experience. While this model is certainly much less money it surprised me how difficult it's still going to be for me. Obviously this model requires planking which can be seen by the parts photo and which is probably the hardest thing to get right. The "instructions" are minimal, do not suggest what colors to paint or a reference to any real ship type. The laser cut parts are very nice and sharp. It does not come in a box but a plastic bag so I was glad it arrived in good condition considering the fragility of the parts. It may be a good starter model but not as easy as a once piece carved hull.

Delicate parts and vague instructions.
I’m sure if you’re already into the wooden model building this might be a rather sophomoric review but this was my first build. It was rather simplistic in nature. Not overly detailed but still something to cut my teeth on. It was VERY delicate parts-wise and saying the instructions were overly vague is being overly generous. I struggled through it and added a few additional details of my own. Everything. And I mean ‘everything’ was wooden. Even the cannon. I put those to the side and ordered some nice looking brass colored metal ones at the right scale to replace them. It came out much nicer than I had expected. I am satisfied with the outcome.

Model ship
At first I was a little leery of this ship model. While I appreciated the minimal packaging, I wasn’t sure the gift was going to be worth it. As we unpacked it, the details that went into the ship were enthusiastically met! I am looking forward to the completed ship build.

The instructions are horrible!!
It says to follow steps but there isn’t any instructions only small pictures that you can’t see. I did ok until I got to the poles for sail(mast)? Next time I’ll use a thin fast dry CA for model rc airplanes and accelerator so glue dries in a few seconds! The glue recommended sucks! It either doesn’t flow or it comes out too fast thin super glue(CA) I think would be better especially for the parts that need shaping! I built a rc Wacl biplane rc and CA helped big time!
