Light & Motion vis 180 Pro is the world's most effective rear tail light ideal for day and night use. Featuring powerful Amber sidelights to make you extra visible at intersections, not only does the vis 180 put out a wide swath of light, its powerful 150 Lumen output allows Cars to spot the pulsing beam well in advance of approaching. The vis 180 is easily mounted and the built-in ratchet system allows you to position the light for optimal visibility. An innovative paceline mode allows the rider to turn off the rear lights when riding in a pack - as to not distract the riders in back - but keeps the Amber sidelights on for critical side visibility. A rechargeable Li-ion battery powers the vis 180 for 6 hours in the high Pulse setting, and it can be recharged from you computer via the Micro USB port. As with all Light & Motion products durability is a given and the lights comes with a two year enhanced .

Horrible mount and nearly impossible to charge
Who designed the charge port on this? It's not even straight and can't fit a standard micro-sub cable because of the insanely recessed port. Can't argue that's it's bright enough though.

Well-nigh indestructible
After six years of heavy use for both my daily work commute and vacationing, this taillight finally gave up the ghost, so I naturally ordered another. After years of subpar performance from smaller, cheaper lights, I would never buy a different model.I like the pulsing light, and am slightly disappointed that the new version also strobes - I find strobes very annoying. The housing is incredibly tough - I had to take a hammer to my old one to get the battery out for recycling. The only downside I can see is that the pivot is prone to jamming - it isn't necessary with it attached to the seat post, but if you need a different attachment point, it could prove maddening. All in all, a bright and reliable workhorse of a light.

Excellent
I only use Light and Motion lights because they are an excellent light that lasts a very long time.

horrible mount, great light
I read what people said that the mount jams and poor design , I wanted to give it a try regardless. Unfortunately they were correct , the second time I tried to take it off the arm / it did jam , took band off and returned as is.A shame the light is great and I wanted to keep it. I was worried about it falling off because of the dumb setup, it didn't but I didn't have a lot of confidence in it. Fix the mount and I would buy it again without question. The light is the most important thing but you need to be able to take it off easily for recharging and sucurity or its not practical at all

Great light but not durable - don’t buy
I spent more on this light than I normally would because I’ve had a Light & Motion headlight that worked great for years so I decided to try the tail light. It broke on the first ride. There is a feature that allows it to quickly disconnect from the bike mount and the connection point from the light to the base is a skinny piece of plastic. The light was not hit on my bike. As I was coming to a stop I stumbled slightly to my side but I caught myself. I heard something hit the ground and it was the tail light. It has snapped right at the connection point. I thought the brightness and the side lights were great. I like that it has a reflective aspect to it as well. Tough to say if I’d give it another chance after this first ride experience.****update***** took the light on its 3rd bike ride since fixing the original break with super glue. This time I went over a manhole and the light broke again! The latch for the strap the mounts to the bike broke so now I can’t strap it back to the bike. Way too expensive for this crappy durability

A swing and a miss...skip this light.
I'm usually a big fan of L&M. I probably have had five or six different lights over the years and they are the go to company I recommend for anyone who wants a quality light. Fit and finish has been great, quality materials, nice lenses and they don't over state the specs. But the Vis 180 Pro is pretty much a swing and a miss. The light itself is very nice, metal housing, bright LED's, good battery and it survived hundreds of rides in the rain, sleet and snow. But the mount is absolutely a deal breaker. It is the most brain dead design I've seen. The button to release the pivot lock jams the minute a grain of sand or any road grit touches it. The same goes for the mount the light slides into. You will either not engage it correctly because of a little bit of grit and lose the light or, it will get stuck in the mount. If you pull it, the strap will eventually break but not before you've bloodied your knuckles on the underside of your bike seat when it decides to let go (yeah, I know how it worked and L&M even made a video about how to use the release). Even with a totally clean mount, it's still a pain in the butt to remove it. L&M support is usually awesome if something breaks but there's nothing "wrong" with the mount according to them. So yes, absolutely a very well made light but no, no, no, no, do NOT buy this if only because the mounting design is beyond stupid and will drive you nuts.
