Low wattage way to keep baby chicks warm.

I bought these lights just to use as backups if my regular heat bulbs burn out, but not for long-term use. When I opened the package, unfortunately one bulb was broken; though considering the price, one broken bulb is no big deal, and I'm sure it happened somewhere in shipping, though I would be lying if I said I wasn't slightly disappointed in the broken bulb. However, all three of the other bulbs I tested work perfectly; they are relatively bright, produce more than enough heat (make sure to have it on a thermostat) and are super easy to use as they can be put into any ceramic heat-safe socket. I cannot say if I'd recommend these bulbs for turtles or not as I do not own a turtle and only keep these bulbs as backups, but they work well as cheap backup heat bulbs nonetheless.

I purchased a pack of these back in November 2023 simply because of the price. Typically, these basking lights of any brand don’t last very long so I knew there was a chance these would not last long either, but the price seemed worth the gamble. I installed the last bulb on August 2024, so I got roughly 10 months out of the other 3, an of average over three months a bulb. Again, not great longevity, but for the price it was as worth it when compared to the other options available having similar or a bit longer life span but for a significantly higher price.Having installed the last bulb, I figured I’d roll the dice again hoping for similar life on another set of 4. I installed the first bulb on 11/10 (meaning the last bulb from the first set lasted a similar 3 months), the second on 11/29 and the third on 12/29 (today), so in short these lasted way less time. From roughly 90+ days per bulb to less than 30!Bad set? Perhaps, but still poor performance out of this set warrants a bad review.

Love that these have uva and uvb which really makes things simple on me. They've lasted longer than other bulbs.
