JEM And The Holograms: Season 1

Seen it before, glad I bought it.

Love Jem and it was fun to see episodes that I did not see as a kid.

Even though it has over the top plots and a lot of songs for each episode, I still thought it was fun and enjoyable to watch

If you are a nostalgic nut like I am you will love this series. I used to watch Jem as a child with my cousin and younger sister and this transported me backed to the 80's and my 4-5year old self wanting to be a Jem girl. Yes as an adult parts of this is corny, but its the nostalgic element attached that has me loving it.Jem was to us back then what Miami Vice was to the older persons in this era.

As a guy I souldn't admit I watched this growing up. I did ,however, and liked it a whole lot. The music fit the time and Jem felt like a superheroine to me. Those hologram powers kept this comic book lover glued to the screen. I believe marvel had a hand in this.

So fun to watch the episodes all over again. Definitely makes me nostalgic for the 80’s. Would definitely recommend.

Good memories that I am now sharing with my daughter. The menus are a bit strange and the video quality is okay. Though it looks the same way it did when I watched it as a child on my non-HD television.

I bought this for my little sister. She loves Jem and I was so glad to be able to find it for her on amazon. She never gets tired of watching it and sometimes I watch it with her. I think the themes of the shows never go out of style. It's a real classic for kids of all ages. It's such a fun dvd.

Watching this with my daughter, brought me back to my childhood. Jem really needs to be on TV.

I bought this as a birthday present for my 4 year old daughter because a) she wants to be a rock star and b) to fulfil a childhood dream. As a child, I was enchanted by Jem and the Holograms. I remember Christmas 1986 when I received a Jem doll. I loved that doll so much, I took it to bed with me and I played in the bath with it. I also loved the movie, I didn't have it myself but a friend did and we used to watch it over and over. I wanted my own copy but I never got it, until now. I grew up and had children of my own but I never gave up hope of watching the Jem movie again. I saw it here on dvd on Amazon but it was silly money, I think some sellers wanted as much as £50 for it. Then I read a review for the tv series box sets on Amazon.com which said the movie was actually only the first 5 episodes of series one, edited. There were 3 series altogether. The box set was reasonably priced, only £13 at the time of purchase and far better value.When I watched this with my daughter I was immediately transformed back to my childhood. For the first few minutes, I thought, 'oh this seems rather dated', however that feeling didn't last long and was quickly singing along to all the songs with my daughter who absolutely loves it.Now some details about the DVD. There are 4 discs with a total of 26 episodes and a total running time of 10 hours. The picture quality and sound are not great, they haven't been remastered or anything and there is one slightly annoying thing, they have left in all the commercial breaks instead of editing, so every 10 minutes there is a pause and a 'Jem will be right back after these messages'. This irritates me but it doesn't bother my children who after all are the prime audience.This is such a good buy for us mums who were girls in the Eighties. It makes you want to dig out the shoulder pads, hairspray and glitter.

i loved it is so great i watch it from biging to end its a dvd i wood watch agen and agen i have the dolls as well to i love them to jem is a all round famly film i say evrry girl young and old wood love this film i like it so much i have 2 othere box sets to buy and look forward to see them to i love jem its realy good and am looking forward to seeing the live jem film to that is geting made hope that to gos on dvd so yes this is for me one good dvd to buy

I bought this for my daughter who is five and she's in love. This was my favourite when I was a kid and I still love watching it with my daughter now. The songs are great, the animation is a bit dated but then it's from the 80s and it hasn't bothered us. Would highly recommend, just make sure you double check the Region!
