Seriously this stuff is the bestest of the best, betterer than any other option for leatherwork. It is by far the only true option for permanent work.

A real professional shoe contact cement
Barge shoe contact cement is a very professional product. I have been using different contact cements over the years and Barge has proven to be something that I continually use over and over. This quart sized can of Barge is the best price per ounce that I can get on Amazon. If the soles of a pair of shoes begins to separate, this is the way to get it repaired properly. Be sure to follow the directions completely. Make sure each surface is perfectly clean before applying the glue. Sometimes I'll use acetone or lacquer thinner on the old glue surface, applying it with a 1-in chip brush to reactivate the old glue and get it soft enough to apply new glue to. This process will allow it to obtain a solid bond between the surfaces that you are regluing. You can bond the two surfaces together but only after it's completely dry. I would probably wait a half an hour to an hour before contacting the two surfaces together with high pressure. You can use a hammer to contact it down properly or you can use a clamp to clamp them together over the length of the repair. If done properly the repair will last as long as the shoes.

Excellent glue for rubber, cloth etc. Perfect shoe glue...
Hard to go wrong with this rubber glue. Works great on rubber, vinyl, cloth - especially on shoes and rubber tire tubes. Have used it for many years. Very, very sticky!

Highly Reliable Adhesive for Leathercraft and More
I’ve been using Barge All-Purpose Cement for my leathercraft projects, and it has become an essential part of my toolkit. Whether I’m working on moccasins, belts, or notebook covers, this glue consistently delivers outstanding results. Things to Keep in Mind: Ventilation is Key: The fumes are quite strong, so always use it in a well-ventilated area or wear a mask for safety. Drying Time: While it sets quickly, allowing it to cure fully (24 hours) ensures maximum strength.

This stuff is nasty but its far more effective than shoe goo
I have a ton of specialized hiking and mountaineering boots that get used intensively for short periods and then sit for long periods and as a result many have sole glue that has failed while the rest of the boot is in its prime. In my experience Shoe Goo is a band aid at best and usually fails within a few uses. When used properly (look up videos on shoe repair with Barge) this stuff has in some cases outperformed even the original glue on some of my shoes. My suspicion is that in order to improve working conditions for the factory workers some shoe manufactures appear to use less aggressive/toxic glue. I fully sympathize and to be honest I hate using this stuff because of how toxic it is but with the right precautions the risks can be mitigated and the results are usually permanent. My advice is to use this outdoors, use the best mask you own or a respirator and consider setting up a fan to one side pointing between your face and work area so as to remove fumes from the evaporating Toluene that makes this stuff so nasty.

Oops! Thought it was rubber cement
I was trying to purchase RUBBER CEMENT, oops! This is not rubber cement, although it has both of those words in its product title. This is more like contact cement. Completely my fault for not reading the listing more carefully! I don't have a use for this but my guy does, so he is happy.
