Installed it in 4/2023. Still going strong 4/2024
I intalled this myself with an existing mains powered sump pump. It wasn't that difficult once the piping was cut to the right lengths needed. The electronic CPU for the battery backup has lights that go off explaining what the issue is which makes it easy for me and my wife to determine the issue (this morning it was beeping because the circuit breaker had tripped and the diagnostic light that was on was "power"). The system works. I'm back online today to search for and order the Bluetooth addon that will send messages to my phone when there are issues (as long as my wifi is up).

It works
I wanted a backup pump when there was a power outage. I have high ground level in my area. It doesn’t pump the quantity of water that my 1 hp sump pump does, but will keep the water level down for the duration of a power outage. I don’t know how long the pump will last, but I did test the system and it works. I ended up getting a WiFi controller and a high water level float. I get email and texts when the power goes off, battery operated pump run, and if the water in the sump raises to a high level.

My original lasted 8 years, and I just replaced it
I just purchased this model to replace the same model that I owned for about 8 years (the control unit finally failed and would not charge the battery). The pump and electronics were very reliable for those 8 years. This new unit seems to be about exactly the same as the old unit. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it. It does have WIFI alert capability, but it's sold separately, and seems its only one way alerts. You cannot control the unit remotely. The issue with the overall system is that you need to keep up with the battery (sold separately). It needs maintenance (add distilled water) every 6 months, and to be safe, I recommend replacing the battery between years 3-4. I had an experience with a battery 5+ years old and in a rain storm where the pump needed to run very frequently over basically the course of 24 hours during a major power outage and it failed over night, so keep up on the battery for max safety. But, the pump is excellent and very reliable. The fact that its plastic is not a negative as so many people think. I pulled my 8 year old pump out and it was still in very good looking condition, compared to my main pump (an excellent brand pump), which is cast iron and submerged and been installed for less than 6 months and already corroding. Plastic lasts forever. It's not a bad thing.I'm very happy to replace my old system with this new one and given the pipework was already in place, I did it myself and it was super easy to swap out the pump and control unit by simply disconnecting the pipes under the check values. No water, no mess, nothing. Looking forward to another 8 years from this new unit.
