Pelican is Bad Ass !!!
Ok I have owned this cooler for 4 years now & wanted to put it to the test for an honest review. 1st off it looks like the day that I received it 4 years ago. This cooler is a beast !!! Holds ice I freeze my own blocks , for days on end just as the Yeti does, I have 4 yeti’s & 2 Pelicans both excellent coolers. What I like about the Yeti more is that you can add a cup holder or a rod holder and other accessories to it where you can’t on the Pelican & im a huge fisherman so that a plus, but that is it. Now for the Pelican it is built like a tank !!! I love the built in can or bottle holders on top that has a slope to them for water to drain off & it doesn’t hold water in the cup holders. I love the built in ruler on top for measuring my fish. I love the built in bottle opener in the front as well as the hole to run a cable through and lock your cooler door shut. I love the tie down point under the lid that you can secure the cooler in the bed of your truck or boat. I love the drain plug that has a wire attached to it so you don’t lose or forget to put the drain plug back it, it’s always with you. I Love that Pelican is made right here in the USA & last but maybe the most important one of all I LOVE how the lid is made a little higher so you can fill past the brim if needed which Yeti is straight across no extra room. I’m not knocking Yeti, I Love Yeti especially with the extra accessories I can add to it to fit my outdoor needs, BUT if I could only pick one between the two it would be the Pelican ! Hands down , Bar none on account everything that I mentioned on the Pelican , Yeti does not have. So if your own the fence & can’t decide or can’t afford both, trust my review after 4 years of using this 70 quart Pelican all the time. I just received my 30 quart Pelican that I love as much as this 70 quart. I want 1 more cooler and that is the Pelican 50 quart. Hope this review helps. Get the Pelican & you’ll thank me later. Have a good day, Cheers 🍻

This is the most AWSOME ice chest I have ever seen in my 61 years.
If you are looking for an ice chest to use once a year at the city park, then this is too much ice chest for you. If you go on out of state elk hunts and you need an overbuilt, tuff, military grade type of ice chest, then this is the ice chest for you. This chest has real latches, not rubber latches that crack and snap off after a few years of age. This chest is massive and robust. Because this chest is overbuilt, it is heavy for a chest. I will estimate 35 lbs. This ice chest is so overbuilt, you can fill it with food, put it in your trailer, bury it with heavy hunting equipment, head for the mountains, and nothing will phase it. "Sorry bears, you aint gettin' in. Expensive, but QUALITY does not come cheap, and nowadays, garbage from China can be pricey.

USA made, Guaranteed for Life, True 70QT capicity, Cheaper than similar High End Coolers, and Better I think.
This Made in the USA Heavy Duty cooler is GREAT. About $100 less expensive than the competition, and not made overseas, as well as having a lifetime warranty as compared to 5 years. This 70 (actual size) QT cooler is quite bulky and large. We used it to store frozen hamburger, about 30# of it, and other stuff, while we were on vacation for 20 days, camping up and down the California coast, temperatures ranging from the mid 70's to the century mark the whole trip, and the hamburger on the bottom of the cooler was still good when we got home, although it had defrosted almost completely by that time. We did add ice to this 3-4 times during the trip, that is 3-4 total bags of 8# ice, and stored other items in it as well, it was opened several times every day, and by the middle of the trip (7-10 days in) it was not full of food to the top any more and that's when we started adding ice. Up until then it was just the frozen hamburger keeping it cold. The bottle opener was pretty much useless, there are 100's of ways to open bottles, and everyone has one, so this feature was unused. I like the latches, they are secure, hold the lid tightly and firmly, and are easy to use, especially if you have only one hand free. The large roomy handles made it really easy to lift in and out of my box trailer with 2 people. The garden hose thread drain was useful for draining out ice and not getting nasty water where you don't really want it. I locked this with a padlock a few times, and found this feature useful as it was being stored most of the time in by open box trailer. I did not use the tie downs as they are kinda small and you have to thread your tie downs through under the lid, it would be nice if you could just put a hook through them. The can holes in the top of the cooler are deep and work great to keep your can or bottle very stable, it is nice that they can be rinsed out cleanly because of the deep drains in them too. We camped in Yosemite, and had this in the back of our Suburban. This was a mistake, as a bear could easily have gotten into the vehicle and tried to get to the food in the chest. One of the Site Hosts, told us that we were lucky. Being Bear resistant doesn't matter much to the park service, this cooler is NOT bear certified, and even if it was, as it is the same design as the ones that are, the parks require it to be locked in a Bear Box. Do not think that this is good enough to not use the park provided bear protection in Yosemite, or Yellowstone. You still have to put it in a Steel Bear Box, which would have been nearly impossible because of it's large size. If you are looking for a one size fits all solution to your traveling food and beverage storage needs, I would strongly recommend looking at the smaller boxes. This 70QT box is too big for daily use in the back of your truck, unless you intend to throw a party every day.

Excellent
Well built extremely solid. Holds ice for around 5 days in the bed of a truck in 80 degree temps. Large enough to fit a boned out deer

Amazing
This cooler is remarkable !! It leaks a little at first but I think its designed that way to get the water out so that the ice can harden inside because it stopped after the first day! I went camping for 10 days ans there was so much ice in there still!! I was in shock! Love ❤️

Keeps ice for days!
This cooler was a big investment. However it is well worth the money. It is big, tough, very well built, and will keep ice for several days even in high heat. I took this on a trip and packed it with beer, wine, and other beverages with ice. The temp was 96 degrees for 8 days in a row. Everyone else's coolers ice would last maybe a day. Ice lasted in this cooler 4 days before I had to add any! And it was still extremely cold. The downside. It's big and heavy. Once it is loaded, it will take 2 people to move. The exterior dimensions on the 70 quart is very large and takes up a LOT of space when packing into a Yukon XL with all of my family of 6's gear. This and the weight after being packed is the only draw ba k and reason for the 4 star rating. I may purchase the 50 quart as well just to save room in the vehicle. I DO NOT regret my purchase though.
