Great Little Knife
Everyone who cooks has their utility knife they use for lots of things. Mine was similar to this one…a nice serrated knife, not too big or small. Mine finally bit the dust, and replacing it was no fun at all. I do lots of things with vegetables, and except for chopping, I use this little guy (well, being pink, I guess I should say girl…).I finally tried this one after reading a recommendation from one of my cooking newsletters, and I’m so glad I did! I love this little knife and it has become the replacement for my much beloved one. There is one thing I dislike about it, and it’s very strong dislike…I’d much rather it had a sharp point, as my beloved-but-gone one did, rather than the rounded one. It’s worthless for cutting open things like hot dog packages or chubs of raw meat, if you want to just slip a point into some tight packaging to be able to then slit it open. Sure, you can very carefully slice them open with the serrated edge, but I tend to reach for a paring knife and use the nice sharp tip. It would be ever so much more convenient not to have to get another knife out, but oh well. For the price, this is a great little knife!I am debating about taking it to my sharpening guy and having him put a point on it…still having that debate…
