Genie 6172H-O Wall Mount Smart Garage Door Opener with Aladdin Connect, Wall Mounted Compact Space Saving Opener

I installed two of these at my house recently. Very easy install using the Bilt app, thorough and well documented graphic instructions. The opener is easy to pair to my car's homelink, easy to mount, etc. After doing the first one, the second install took about 40 minutes the next week.I love the mobile app, notification of when the door is opened or closer, the ability to set a routine like automatically closing the door between 8pm and 8am and most importantly, how quiet the unit is.The only negative I'd give it is that it has a very very slight low hum when sitting idle. I didn't notice it with the first install but having 2 in the same garage I noticed it. I was annoyed for about 5 minutes and then forgot about it. Any time I'm in my garage I'm moving around, playing music or something that would distract me from the sound, it isn't something that would deter me from the purchase.Definitely recommend, happy I went with this. I spent months comparing the Chamberlain and Liftmaster and at the very last minute a friend suggested this one and I made an unexpected but fortunate swap.

I had never seen or used one of these wall mount units before, but I heard they were a great solution for a garage door opener where there was not enough headroom for a standard type.More than pleasantly surprised!Install only took me a couple hours, adjustments were easy, and the thing is so quiet that we cant even hear the garage door opening from our rec-room which is directly aver the garage.Would definitely recommend and plan to buy another for the other side of the garage.

I am very happy with the purchase, but although installation is well described it is best to be aware that the tracks of the door are very likely to need adjusting to avoid rubbing of the "springs" that need to be installed at the bottom of the door. One should be comfortable with DIY ing. Tightening of the "collar" onto the door spring and the opener should be carefully accomplished (one full turn of the screws is noted on instructions, so carefully mark the screws to know when you have done one full turn for each)

So I had a $50000 Pole Barn built and I needed 3 garage door openers decided to go with a genie model 6172. All 3 of them installed without a problem and work correctly with the exception of the one wireless wall controller does not seem to be powering up. I even tried new batteries in it. So I called genie's customer service line and they were not able to be able to send me the correct wall controller that came brand new inthe box..and they said they weren'table to help me and the lady hung up on me. This is the worst Case scenario for a company to treat their customers like that. Unbelievable I will never purchase a genie product again and will never recommend that company to anyone.

If you're considering this over a track opener and are undecided because this is quite a bit more than said track version, there's a reason it's more. There's LESS of it! It's a tiny little box on the wall and no track to bend or get in the way or take up room and no noisy chains or belts. And hey, the main button is wireless. Put it wherever you like! Minimal wires to run otherwise.So just bite the bullet, spend the extra money and get this. You won't be disappointed. It was easy to install, just be warned that your door needs to be in perfect working order first. If your tension isn't properly balanced, this thing will definitely not be nice to you. So make CERTAIN your door is properly tensioned and aligned before installing this (or any other) opener!

I purchased this opener for a heavy insulated 10’ garage door. This door was very heavy and it opening it was very difficult. Not anymore! I can open it with Siri, my echo or the optional genie external remote. One caution. Make sure to keep the emergency release out of the way as mine got hung up on the door and caused it to bind up. I put in a small hook to keep it out of the way. Works fast and super quiet.

After installing the mechanical the rest was easy. Just follow directions. The soft ware app is working out great. I can now monitor my door and open it when someone need access when I am not home and close it from where ever I am in the state. Love this garage opener. P.s. don't pull the manual override string to hard. there is an easy fix but you must take the machine apart and then reinstall the unit back on the wall.Approve this machine 100%. Real Quite.

we love our garage door opener and now it works perfectly.the only thing I have against this system is how to make it work after installation as the instructions are not for the home owner and I had to call in 5 times for instructions.Once I had them on the phone all was simple.Too bad they can't make their written instructions as simple.
