Ideal frig water bottle.
Got this to replace a 64 oz plastic bottle we've been using for years. I was going to get a glass bottle, but reviews indicate those sometimes spontaneously fall apart. This is stainless steel, but light weight. Even when filled with water it's not too heavy, but it can be awkward to hold with one hand if your hands are small. I solved that problem by putting some rubber bands on it to provide a better grip. Unlike some other brands of stainless steel bottles which are reported to smell funny when they arrive, this one has no smell, and does not impart any taste to the water. I'd advise ordering it along with some other items that are supposed to arrive the same day, so that it will be sent in a box. That's what we did to avoid the disappointment of other customers whose bottles arrived dented, because they were stupidly packed only in a bag.

Excellent quality, 64oz but shorter and narrower than most
These are more expensive than similar products from other brands, but well worth the difference in my opinion, and in fact this is my third 64oz Kleen Kanteen. The new “loop”cap is flatter and allows reduces the overall height to just under 10” in height, making it much easier to find space for it in the refrigerator, and to wash in the dishwasher.Note that this particular model is a single wall container, but Kleen Kanteen also makes double wall thermos containers that are also excellent.

Solid, big, and easy to clean.
Solid, big, and easy to clean. It's not the thicker insulated version but it's solid. I've knocked it against several hard objects and there's been no dent or blemishes.Holds a lot of water and keeps it reasonably cool for longer than I thought considering it's not insulated.Comes out of the dishwasher perfectly clean. Lid goes in the top rack, the stainless steel bottle goes in the bottom rack.

Cheaply made, substandard to older models
After using Klean Kanteen for years, I can say I will no longer be purchasing their products. I lose my water bottle, likely once a year and have to replace it. I use my water bottles daily to stay hydrated. This water bottle is a replacement for the larger version they used to make, and there’s a few issues. First, the metal is thinner, noticeably so. It dents easier, which doesn’t bother me that much, but I dropped it while full on its lid, and it had warped to the point it cannot be used. The older models had thicker steal and were indestructible regardless of how dropped. Additionally, the lid has a lot of plastic. The older model you could replace the lid with a completely metal and silicon replacement. This model has not such ability. Unfortunately, I think Klean Kanteen has reach a size or point where it is being ran by thr financial team instead of product design team. I would encourage you to look elsewhere for your water needs. The pictures may not show it great, but the top threads have warped since dropped. I cannot securely screw the lid on.

Nice, but read this.
It's the only single wall stainless steel container I've found in a 64oz size. Single wall, not insulated double-wall, is what you need when camping and have to boil water. The fact that this container exists at all makes it a lovely item indeed. I have a Nalgene single wall 38oz, so I'll compare the two, size differences aside. The cap on this item is sturdy and beefy. The cap literally weighs more than the entire steel container. Which brings me to my strongest point I'd like to express. If the steel was any thinner, it would be transparent. It's an engineering feat to be able to build this thing, and weld the cap throat on, as well as the main vertical seam. Thin = lighter weight, but don't drop this thing without a pillow under it, it will definitely dent even if empty. I do like it, could be improved by using thicker steel, even if the price was raised to accommodate. The Nalgene 38oz stainless steel single wall has better cap and cap throat threads, thicker steel, a cap with a built-in retainer which doubles as a loop for a caribeaner, and a lip below the cap throat threads which allows a rope to be tied around it to lower it into a water source, or hang it over a fire for boiling water. But alas, Nalgene does not make a stainless steel single wall container in anything larger than 38oz. I have not seen any from any manufacturer larger than 38oz in single wall. So, this is it.

Great for lightweight hiking
I got this as an ultralight metal bottle for carrying larger quantities of water while hiking and camping, as like everybody I'm trying to move away from plastic."Ultralight" is a key word here. This is an uninsulated, thin-walled bottle to use where weight, not durability, is a priority. It's not going to keep things hot or cold, and it will definitely pick up dents from rough handling. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to put a hole in it.Nevertheless, it manages to have some clever little features, like a handle that snapped down into place so it doesn't rattle, and a little tab on the silicone top gasket so you can easily pull it out to clean it. The thread pitch is also big which is great, because The top goes on really easily and quickly without fumbling to get it lined up.I haven't tried it and I don't really plan to, but I don't see any reason you couldn't boil water in it—without the lid—on top of a campfire in a pinch.

Clean water storage, wide mouth.
From reviews, I’m advising my family to use the handle to carry, but not for twisting the cap on and off. Just twist the whole lid, and I think these will last for years. I purposely left water in it sitting in hot vehicle for a week, then cooled it down and yay! Still great-tasting water! No chemical/plastic/metallic taste . Just great water. We will use these for drinking water in the van. I like how single-wall steel cools off fast in fridge, and wide mouth is easy to clean. It’s heavier than the plastic tea bottles we’ve been reusing, but not too heavy, and steel seems way healthier. Nice size fits in the door of van fridge, and under the bunk storage.

Perfect for my application
Just the thing for when you might need to purify drinking water by boiling over a wood fire( preppers and survivalists will know!)
