Best brace I've ever owned
I have ankle that are prone to sprains. This brace is the best one I have owned. Great for preventing sprains and recovering from them. It is thoughtfully designed with velcro in all the right places, which allows you to put it on snugly and quickly. This brace really replicates getting your ankle taped like an athletic trainer would do, but faster, more comfortable and much easier to remove.

Very comfy
Update: I love this brace! It has held up better than I expected, it's still comfortable, the lacing system is quick & easy to adjust and fasten, and it still provides enough support even without the rigid shims. My orthopedist is also happy with how it's working. Original review: This is probably the most comfortable brace I've tried. It's not terribly bulky from the lower ankle on down, and cutting off the supination strap (which I don't need) helped even more. The 'speed lace' design is easy to use and customizable. The tricky part is keeping the tongue from curling up when you put it on, as it's only attached in two small places near the bottom. Works fine if you hold the tongue with one hand and the back of the brace with the other. I would have removed the tongue completely if it didn't make the brace too big. Time will tell if the wrapping strap will last, it's very thin. With similar braces I've used, walking in the brace without shoes usually shreds the strap under my arch. The brace is not quite as supportive as one with rigid shims on the sides, but it's provided enough support to prevent pronation and I don't miss the shims. If you're between sizes, go smaller.

Workable but a little fiddly for older folks to get used to putting them on.
Instructions are in tiny print, written directions are unclear, the photo on the box is the best way to figure out how to use. Once set up correctly they do help with ankle stability. Cons: -The instructions are in 6 point font, spend a tiny bit more on paper, please. Your typical customer is going to be older and can't read that stuff. -Everything is the same color black, so folks with poor vision will have trouble finding the pieces and keeping them straight. Needs some white or colored trim on each of the velcro where you are supposed to grab them. Idrew on them with a paint marker to help famly see the pieces. Having 4 laces tied to one " bar" of velcro so someone older can tighten all 4 at once iis handy. They fit inside shoes better than expected, I don't think we will need to get wider shoes.

New design isn't better, but still the best
the mfgr changed the design, I liked the old design better, but still these are the best ankle braces for me. They last literally ten times longer than other similar brands, the price is reasonable, they are comfortable, and they fit in my shoes. I am on my fifth pair since learning about this brand sometime around 2010. I wear them for an hour a day, at least 5 days per week, playing pickup ultimate. They also provide extra warmth and protection when playing in crusty snow.

Great product got even better
This is a replacement for an older ASO lace-up brace that I have had for years. What a huge improvement the speed laces are! Not only is it faster to apply, but the Velcro tabs lay flat so their isn't the lump of a tied shoe lace to deal with. I had been a bit worried about the sizing. I wear a size 8.5 woman's shoe but have very thin ankles. I bought a small and it fit perfectly, My husband had been given a similar brace for his plantar fasciitis. While it worked the same, it wasn't an official ASO. He had to fit the bootie then apply a separate strap. This is SO much easier to apply. Stick with the real ASO. For what it does, it is a bargain! Through the years, I have relied on reviews to make smart purchases and now I'm trying to "pay it forward" by helping others with my reviews. Please let me know how I'm doing with your vote. Thanks!!

Fine if it was the right size
This ankle brace would've been fine if the size chart was accurate. I ordered a size according to the information provided. I want to exchange the size I have for the next size up and this company charges 20% restocking fee even if you just want another one. If I would've known, I would've just purchased this some where else so I wouldn't have to deal with this. They also want the same exact plastic bag that it was in otherwise they charge a 50% restocking fee. And guess what?! In my excitement that I finally get out of a medical boot into an ankle brace, I threw out the little plastic bag thinking it wasn't a big deal. So now I'm stuck with a size too small because this company wants to take 50% of my money away for no reason. Excuse me, but this company simply sucks. I have never had issues like this with anything else I have ordered from amazon. Oh, the company is Flexibrace, just in case it doesn't say anywhere.

Added Support, relieves stress!
I purchased it for my handicapped daughter when she twisted and strained her ankle. I was a bit confused how to assemble the straps, but with the help of our Physical Therapist, he helped me with the assembly. It really is simple now to put on and adjust for comfort! My daughter loves the support and after many years of wearing AFOs, she prefers to have the support with such comfort!

Pretty good brace for eight-year-old gymnast
Bought this for my daughter who is a size 3-4 (big kid). It is a little large on her, but a size smaller would be too small. So it's a little lumpy, and we tuck a little fabric in here and there, but it's nothing that impedes movement. This brace is convenient because of the speed lacer option (I've had the regular laces for myself and it takes forever). Provides very good support for gymnastics and gym glass. She had an ankle sprain due to a bad landing on the trampoline (stretched outer ligament). It can be a little hard to figure out at first, and the wrong instructions were in my box. Try: laces first, then the wrap (under the arch of the foot and then attached to the upper ankle), then the big straps firmly set around the top. Hope that helps!
