Inspiring Read
Really good, easy read. Good reflection on how diligent one must be to maintain their overall health, but even more so when it comes to Bronchiectasis. We followed a lot of his guidelines and saw a great improvement with our son. It is clear when we "fall off" the regime, he tends to become more congested again. Glad to have some insight and inspiration. We bought copies to share with families and teachers for better understand.

Great info!
I think this was a great book! It’s a pretty quick read which was exactly what I needed. I suffer from lots of health issues, but breathing problems started two years ago. I’ve already been on the alternative medicine/functional doctor route for nearly two decades so not a ton of information was new to me. BUT, hearing other health success stories are very encouraging to me and give me hope I will continue to get better myself! What I loved was seeing how he stayed 100% committed to healing and was consistent with everything. It’s hard not to feel guilt for not partaking in activities even when I feel I should say no. This book inspired me to try harder and work towards putting some of these lung-specific practices into motion daily instead of being wishy washy about them. Thanks for the encouragement! I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a little inspiration.

Ignores some important factors
At the very end of this book, Pecaut admits that he takes Omeprazole daily. Since he, I, and several other people I know of who have bronchiectasis (despite being unlikely candidates) also suffer from reflux, I believe he pays far too little attention to this possible cause of bronchiectasis and its treatment. In my case, I had undiagnosed larangopharangeal reflux (LPR) for years while doctors treated my cough as asthma and ignored other symptoms of LPR. I am convinced that the LPR caused chronic sinus infections and bad post-nasal drip (treated eventually with sinus surgery), as well as aspiration of bacteria into my lungs, which caused bronchiectasis. The ENT who has treated my LPR strongly discourages use of Omeprazole, recommending instead lifestyle changes and diet in his book, The Acid Watcher Diet.If you also have reflux, forget the supplements etc. and follow Aviv's advice in this book. Also, while Buteyko breathing won't do you any harm, I recommend that you ask your doctor to refer you to a pulmonary rehab program. I attended an 8-week, twice weekly rehab program at my local hospital, and it was the most important thing I have done for myself (along with nebulizing and treatment of LPR with diet and lifestyle changes). Although I have been an athlete for my whole life, the exercise and breathing routine I learned in rehab has made a huge difference in my health. I was by far the healthiest person in my cohort, and it seemed to me to be a terrible waste that the others had waited until they were in such bad shape to enroll. Don't wait!!Finally, two more bits of advice that I wish I had had from the beginning. The AerobiKa device is FAR better as well as easier to clean and use than the Acapella device. And regarding nebulizers, go for the best: the Aura Portanab. I am grateful for this small, portable, silent, and easy to clean device every day.

I thought you did a great job of suggesting paths to take
Actually, this is Brent's wife that bought the book. I was diagnosed with Brohchiectasis in March 2017. I have read quite a lot about it since then. The only thing I can say is, "You can not beat bronchiectasis" You and I will both be dealing with it for the rest of our lives. You can however, rid your lungs of MAC, which I have dealt with two different times now. With that said, I thought you did a great job of suggesting paths to take! I am not a person to sit still with a problem, I want to take action. I have referred back to you book several times. I also bought your book for my doctor (internist) and my husband. I want each of them to understand what I am dealing with. Thanks for writing this book and doing research that I would have ended out doing myself eventually!

Very Helpful
Very encouraging with some great practical helps. He includes a full list of supplements he was prescribed by his naturopath. The only drawback to me was the author's clear bent toward buddhism. I practice a different form of meditation that includes the Living Presence, communion with the Holy Spirit, and the truth of His Word. I would recommend grabbing a modern translation of the Bible, and in quietness and solitude meditate on the truth and beauty found in the Psalms.

Quick Read for People With Bronchiectasis
I have bronchiectasis and wanted to pick up some ideas to improve my condition. I gave it a quick read will read certain sections again. Very helpful for individuals who haven't researched other alternatives other than drugs. Some suggestions will be helpful. Exercise, massage, and core conditioning are also keys to better health. My CT is amazing - said the pulmonologists. Amazing meant "bad"; however, they were amazed at my exercise tolerance and my general health. I am in great condition, not short of breath and almost no cough. This book will be a catalyst to try other options. Very little is written about this subject from a patient experience. The book is well worth the $4.
