Spiritual Formation in Emerging Adulthood is a wonderful book on the subject matter
Spiritual Formation in Emerging Adulthood is a wonderful book on the subject matter. I used it for my DMin dissertation on the same subject. There are many insights that will help leaders consider how to help disciple young adults whether they lead as a youth pastor, a small group leader, or college ministry. The authors cross-reference Christian Snell's findings on young adults which were taken from a national survey. His book, Souls in Transition, is also good but his book consists of a lot of statistics that you need to wade through. If you just want to get to his main points just read this book. Anyway, great book for ideas and considering the challenges of emerging adulthood.

A challenging read, but good
Although the book starts off with what seems to be a boatload of statistics, it presents a very concise overview of the challenges that young adults are faced with in coming to terms with what it means to follow or not follow Jesus. It is not an easy read, but it is a good read for anyone working with youth from 13-30 in my view. It should help to shape conversation.

Helping Millennials and Centennials Navigate Spiritual Wholeness
A thoroughly researched book on working with the Millennial and Centennial generations. While the focus is on spiritual formation, these authors reach beyond the Bible and theological work to understand how these generation think differently and how we who work with them can help guide their spiritual formation. The chapters on Identity and Church are two of the best in my opinion for understanding where these generations may be and how they can change with some guidance from wise adults.Their emphasis on wholeness rather than separating spiritual from the secular is refreshing and follows solid theological grounding. Setra and Kiesling have done a masterful job on this research and writing.
