Dayton Audio DCS165-4 6-1/2" Classic Subwoofer 4 Ohm

I purchased the Dayton Audio DCS165-4 6-1/2" Classic Subwoofer (4 Ohm) to replace the aging subwoofer in my old 2.1 system, and I couldn’t be happier! This subwoofer completely revitalized my setup. The bass is punchy, clean, and tight, far exceeding my expectations for its size. Installation was straightforward, and the build quality is excellent. It paired seamlessly with my existing system, and now the sound feels rich and full again. Whether I’m watching movies or listening to music, the low-end response is fantastic without being overpowering. If you’re looking to breathe new life into an older audio system or build something new, this subwoofer is a great choice. Amazing performance at an affordable price. Highly recommend!

Absolutely Fantastic small sub! I bought this to replace any blown sub in my Klipsch 2.1 speakers and it actually sounds better than the original! Worth every penny!

I bought this to pair with some Klipsch RP-600M bookshelf speakers for my computer desk audio setup and I couldn't be more happy with it. I put it in a 0.5ft^3 ported box with a 2" port tuned to 37hz and it sounds amazing and hits hard. I'm running it off a Fosi Audio TP02 amp and it gives it more than enough power. I added a photo of my box design if anyone else wants to reproduce it, it can be made with a single 3/4" 2ftx4ft piece of MDF you can get from Home Depot for $30 and the port is a 2" PVC pipe cut at 10". Couldn't be happier with this little sub, it has exceeded all of my expectations for a small subwoofer and i highly recommend it.

This sub was a perfect drop-in replacement for my busted JBL 2.1 subwoofer. No modifications needed besides the connector type, I used pieces of 16 gauge wire to make it work. The screw holes lined up perfectly. The bass is so nice, I honestly can’t remember how the JBL sounded before the awful rattling; however, I’m not sure it sounded as good as this Dayton sub. This thing makes my living room sound and feel like a movie theater!

For 6.5 inch subwoofer this thing delivers a lot of great base if you got 100 W amp to subwoofer, I’m blasting music on a DIY boombox, and it fills the room full of base for 100 W RMS 6.5 inch subwoofer for $70!!! if you want something smaller, but have the bass great at a decent price I would recommend this but if you’re making a custom box for the little hole lip for the subwoofer to sit on is about 5.5 inches, so make your hole to 5.5” diameter. All in all I highly recommend for a 100W RMS 6.5 inch subwoofer!!!!

I wanted some more bass in my crown Victoria and I had an old computer 6.5” ported subwoofer with a blown subwoofer I my closet so I took out the amp and put a flat panel in place of it and replaced the sub with this Dayton audio subwoofer and found a cheap kedwood amp on eBay. It sounds very good for how inexpensive the whole thing was. Highly recommend for a diy subwoofer system.
