Great rugged design -easy to use.
Bought to clean a basement concrete floor over 7000 ft2. The room had not been cleaned in 6 years, Filthy with dead bugs everywhere. Unit cleaned the entire room in about 6 hours. I had to clean the air filter once- easily done. I did not have to read the manual or even put the batteries in the remote. Great rugged design, easy to use with good battery life.

Great vacuum. Great value. Very useful
We have a 23000 square foot space and this thing is awesome! The catch tray is large enough. The vacuum picks up very fine dust to large metal screws (2 inches long) with ease. Using this vacuum has reduced our labor cost and allowed us to focus staffing on more important tasks. The batteries recharge in 45 minutes. The device will run about 3 hours with both batteries in use. You can run on one battery and charge the other one and just swap when needed to keep the vacuum running constantly.

Get to know the folks at your local Makita Service Center
The media could not be loaded. It had the potential to be a great investment. It could have saved me tons of time, and in fact it had shown a lot of promise at the start. However its only been a few months and I already had to take it in for a warranty repair because it started behaving erratically, to the point where it became useless. Seemed like some kind of sensor or logic bug. Vacuumed for a minute or two normally, then it would begin tripping out as if it though something was perpetually in front of it, so it would just start backing up and turning on repeat and eventually stop. This gives me little hope that this is going to be reliable enough to really see a return on this investment over time. Wish there was more competition in this space, but they really seem to be the only game in town for industrial robot shop vacs. I wouldn't dare put a Roomba where this thing is going. When it works, it does a pretty good job. It's not the most efficient or agile, but it does a pretty decent job. Only when it encounters large amounts of dust and debris does it not pick up everything on the first pass. Usually in those cases it takes two and maybe even three passes to get every bit. Also the beeper is annoying as hell. I thought I would get used to it, but it makes me want to stab my ears it's so obnoxious and loud. Especially more of a problem given it does get stuck pretty often even if you learn how to robot-proof your space. I will update if I ever get my robot back from the service center, the tech said to expect 6 weeks. Its been 4 so far and no word.Update: it's been over 6 weeks now. I finally got ahold of somebody at Makita. They're sending me a new one that should be here in a week. Not sure why that didn't just happen within a week of dropping it off though...

Best out there for a commercial environment. Not recommended for your home.
This robotic vacuum is absolutely outstanding when you use it in an environment as intended. Hard floors, nothing wet. We use it in a 2400sqft detail shop and it is nothing short of amazing. Runs forever on a charge, and as it uses one battery it switches to the other. My only two complaints: it has a very annoying alarm that you can't turn off (I haven't figured out how if you can) when it runs. The other is it doesn't try long to get itself unstuck from something or somewhere before it quits. We have "roboproofed" the shop and it will still occasionally find something to get stuck on, but as we learn what it's getting stuck on we resolve it and continue. This doesn't have a base to return to like a household robotic vacuum, but that really doesn't bother us.Very VERY pleased with it, and it gets daily use in our shop.

I'm using it in the house and it works fine.
This little thing kicks butt. I've had it two days inside the house and it's worked great. I have wood floors, a thin rugs. Both are no problem for it. It handles the rugs and switches between the rugs and the wood floors with no problem. Better suction than my regular vacuum.Every now and again it gets stuck. It's got great power but it's a little dumb. The remote kinda doesn't work. Which is annoying. And I wish the remote had a function where you could take manual control to guide it somewhere. It would make it easy to "park it". Yes, that is lazy. But I'm the type of guy who buys a robot vacuum.Overall. I was impressed.

Amazing!
Have a 7,000 sqft warehouse and day one it was a workhorse! I have several roombas and this is so much better for a warehouse! It drains one battery at a time so when it shifts to battery 2 you can remove battery one and charge before the other runs out! Buy it!

Bought for a barn - has never finished a complete cycle
This may pick up nails, but it doesn’t do well with even small amounts of pine shavings.

I wasn't sure how good it would work in my new 40'x60' shop
I wasn't sure how good it would work in my new 40'x60' shop. And it worked great, worth every penny it cost to me!!! Batteries last a very long time and it cleans very good.
