Cured my metatarsalgia!!
After overdoing treadmill and elliptical machine in my old running shoes, I began having metatarsal pain in my left foot. It got to the point where even wearing cushioned slippers was not enough to prevent the pain. At first I used gel cushions under the ball of my foot, which seemed to help but these things were what really did the trick!!I was skeptical, not really thinking that wearing a cushion behind the area I was experiencing the pain would help... but I was so wrong!!These things allowed me to continue moderate cardio as i healed, and after a couple weeks all pain was gone even without the inserts!!Be sure you place them in the correct position behind the ball of your foot but before your arch. They DO NOT go underneath the ball of your foot like a cushion! They work by spreading your toe bones out and need to go just behind the ball of your foot. I also use arch support inserts and stuck these babies onto the end of them so I was able to wear both my heel/arch support insert and these things at the same time.In the beginning they do take some practice to get into the right position and then getting them to stay while you put your foot into the shoe. I loosened my laces all the way so I could be sure I placed them in the right position. Then I very carefully slid my feet in while holding onto the pad under my foot. I stood and tied my laces. I never had them move around as I wore them, whether I was jogging or doing the elliptical, etc.The first few times they did want to scoot around as I took my shoes on and off so I would reposition it and hold it in place when putting my feet in. But the more I wore them the more they stuck. After a few times, they stayed in place on their own but I can still take them out if I want.Whatever the bottom stuff is, it doesn't feel very sticky, but it works.Love these things!!! Just read the directions and watch a YouTube video if necessary to ensure you wear them correctly and to see tips!

Didn’t Work – Adhesive is Useless
I bought this product hoping it would help with pain in the ball of my foot, but I couldn’t even use it. The adhesive is completely useless – it doesn’t stick to the insole or the shoe at all. I tried several times, followed the instructions, and it simply wouldn’t stay in place. It was a waste of money and a big disappointment. I don’t recommend this product to anyone. Dr. Scholl’s should improve the design or at least provide better adhesive support.

They dont stay.
They have great cushion but they dont stay where they're supposed to. they're hard to place in your shoe and they dont stick well at all. the few times i've actually got them to stay, it was great. but its truly not worth the hassle.

Good relief, but temporary relief.
I bought 3 pairs of these for different pairs of shoes. First few weeks I think they provided relief but now we're back to square one. But it's only my right foot that is experiencing ball of foot pain, I'll slap on a new set in the same shoes, I'm assuming these wear out with time. My review is 3 months after I got them. For the low price, it's worth trying them out.

These work for ball of foot pain
I was limping badly from pain in the ball of my right foot when I spotted these in a local store. I bought a pair of these and after using them for a day, the pain was gone. My local pharmacy has stopped stocking these so I buy them through Amazon. The most difficult part is getting these positioned in exactly the right spot in my hiking shoe. With my hand and the pad both in the hiking shoe, I can't see what I am doing and so have to go completely by feel. It took a few tries to get it right, but when positioned correctly it works to relieve my foot pain. The pad tends to move when removing my shoe, and so most mornings I have to reposition it. This pad puts pressure on a spot just behind the ball of your foot, and so at first it is uncomfortable, but after wearing it a little while I don't notice that and the pain in the ball of my foot is gone.

Won't Stay In Place Causing Worse Foot Pain
I work standing on concrete all day. I bought these to help with foot pain on the balls of my feet. The first day they helped a lot. But... Starting on day two they kept slipping around inside my shoe and made things worse. The glue or tape or whatever adhesive they use to try and secure the pads to the shoe failed miserably in my case. Day three, I threw them out and got something else.
