I've used it to load and unload my jetski onto the trailer, and it has shown no signs of wear or malfunction. However, a slight reduction in weight could make it even more durable. Operating the Camco 5000 Trailer Winch is relatively straightforward. The handle is comfortable to grip, and the ratcheting mechanism works smoothly. It has a solid locking system that ensures the load stays securely in place. I appreciate the included strap, which is sturdy and long enough for most applications. However, a longer strap would be beneficial for larger boats or trailers. This winch boasts a 5,000-pound capacity, which is more than adequate for most trailer applications. It has effortlessly handled my PWC with no signs of strain. However, if you regularly deal with significantly heavier loads, you might want to consider a winch with a higher capacity.Considering its performance and durability, the Camco 5000 Trailer Winch offers reasonable value for money. This boat wench is great. Seems well made and sturdy. Works perfect and fit well. Easy to install and easy to use. The fwd/back lever is east to use too making for a easy to use wench. The rope is good quality and I expect it to last for years. Great value for the price.

The smaller size worked great for my boat. And with the higher weight capacity, I am very pleased. The crank is easy to switch directions and the handle is very robust.

Once you brace it strong it’s a great workhorse. I think my boat is about 2000lbs and I winch it up onto a wooden ramp in Panama. So far great components and happy with my purchase. Would buy again.

Works great and easy to install. The cost on Amazon was much lower than the cost at a marina or an outdoor store.

2,000 lb model. I haven't installed it yet but it's better than I expected. My trailer came with 1,200 lb winch for 1,800 lb boat. Old mounting bracket/plate looks a little deformed from load so glad to upsize. Didn't want to have to wrestle with remounting deformed mounting bracket. The new one can either free spin unwinding or have a little ratchet restriction. It comes with the strap simply wound around the drum which is best for me. If you want it between the 2 "guide" rods you'll have to unspool and reattach. Keep in mind, it's import to have the feed point of the strap at least a little higher than the connection point to your bow. If you mostly use flatter ramps, you don't know how important that is.

This winch was worth the price. This replaced another winch that has one gear to crank the winch. In time the old winch bent and would not work. This winch however has two gears which is much beefier then the old one. Would recommend buying.

SHOULD BE ZERO STARSAND YOU CAN'T TELL ME THEY DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS. BEEN THIS WAY FOR YEARS....ALL of these winches are made in china..Dont care who puts their name on it! The winch handle and shaft it attaches to are not a tight fit. Tightened down the nut on the handle and the shaft threads are now stripped( flattened).. As with all the others that I own I will be welding the handle to the shaft!Do not buy this it is made of Chineesium. ( a cheap inferior steel like product)
