Wasabi Power Battery (2-Pack) and Charger for GoPro HERO3+, HERO3 and GoPro AHDBT-201, AHDBT-301, AHDBT-302

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: The new Hero3+ battery, AHDBT-302 is a bit larger than the older battery. The older battery has small notches on the top corners, the newer battery is a bit thicker and does not have the notches. The original Wasabi charger would not allow the newer batteries to fit in it, but Wasabi has updated the charger to accommodate the new battery as well as the older 1050mAh battery.---The Wasabi Power battery and charger combo for GoPro Hero3 is such an amazing value that you might be skeptical. Don't be,This is the real deal. You get 2 batteries that, at least on paper, exceed the specs of the original GoPro battery. These batteries are marketed as 1200mAh whereas the GoPro battery is only 1050 mAh, a difference of 150mAh. That translates to about a 10-15 minute increase in recording time. Well... maybe, maybe not. Some people are making a bigger deal than necessary about the alleged overstatement of battery capacity of the Wasabi's. I'm not an electrical engineer so can't make any absolutely scientific claims but I can tell you that in comparing the run time of both the GoPro branded battery and the Wasabi, they are very close. So whether or not the actual capacity of the Wasabi is a bit more or less than the GoPro is not important to me. What is important to me is that these batteries are a lot less expensive and last about the same length of time for all practical purposes. So just getting 2 batteries for almost the same price as 1 GoPro battery is a great deal. But Wasabi Power also gives you an AC battery charger, a car charger adapter plus they throw in a European plug.The batteries fit snugly in my Hero3 Black and I do not have any looseness with the batteries in the AC charger as some people have reported. Works fine for me. I find that the batteries fully charge in about 2-2.5 hours. The charger also charges the GoPro batteries, although some people claim the GoPro batteries are loose in the charger. Mine are not loose and charge perfectly.Boggles the mind that GoPro can get away with such highway robbery. But never fear, Wasabi Power is here to ease the pain of buying backup batteries.Thanks you Wasabi Power for providing such great value.

Good batteries and good price. When I first got my gopro, it had the hardware issues that prevented it from charging the battery over usb as it was supposed to do. So I had no way to recharge the battery until I bought this. Even with the gopro problem fixed through firmware, it still charges slower using the camera's usb than when using this charger, and the camera sucks them dry fast enough that I'd want a couple spare batteries anyway. It might be my imagination, but I think this charges them more completely, too. (And yes, you can definitely charge the original gopro battery in this charger. You might argue the exact charge capacity, but for charging and discharging purposes, the specs are the same, and it's been working fine for me.)I get very similar battery life with each of these as with the original gopro battery -- right around one hour of HD video, with wifi turned off. (I have usually shot either 1080p/60fps or 2.7K/30fps.)Charger works great. Still takes probably 3-4 hours to charge (that's just a rough estimate; I haven't timed it), but having both the AC and the DC (car adapter) options is very nice. I like they way the implement that, similar to many of their other chargers -- a built-in fold-out AC plug, and a jack to plug in the DC adapter.I'd actually only give this 4.5 stars, since it doesn't give any longer than the original gopro battery, but it still equals the original battery, and it's not enough in my book to warrant docking them a whole star.

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do. It's a good product at a great price. My only problem, and the reason I gave it 4 stars, is with the quality.Unit comes with 2 batteries, a wall charger (european plug adapter), and cigarette lighter adapter. A lot of stuff for the price.The charge last longer than the standard GoPro battery for the Hero 3. This is expected due to the greater charge capacity, 1200mAh, vs 1050mAh of the GoPro standard battery.Why 4 stars?....The quality has a few issues. The plastic material the unit is made out of feels very cheap. This is not a deal breaker. A little more irritating is the pull tab to remove the battery from the charger and camera. The pull tab is very flimsy and not taped well to the battery. I have already pulled the tab off of one of the batteries after the first use. Again, this is not a deal breaker. A little tape or a little glue will fix it permanently. Just wished it was made a little sturdier from the beginning.Pros: Price, Charge Capacity, Charging Options, PriceCons: Flimsy Plastic, Poor Pull Tabs (Thus the reason behind 4 stars)Overall I am happy with this product.
