Great tool for Paramedics, RN's, EMT's, etc. Holds stethoscope solidly during movement.
I'm a medic, and after spending years dealing with the crappy plastic belt-clip stethoscope holders, which resulted in one lost scope just getting out of the rig, and many, MANY cases of my scope falling out when sitting down, standing up, or moving around I finally gave up and started stuffing my scope in a pants pocket. Not ideal - it's a pain to get out, and even worse to get back in, but much safer on an ambulance than keeping it around my neck for someone to choke me with. So, when I saw a flight medic wearing one of Dr Li's Batclips' I was intrigued. When I saw he was able to move freely with it without the scope falling out, I was interested enough to buy one. I just received it today, and I'm impressed. My scope (a conventional diaphragm & bell model) fits easily in the clip and stays there securely. The velcro is strong and does not seem at all prone to releasing itself, so having my scope slide out while I'm moving around is no longer a major concern. The 'easy' way to insert the scope does leave a loop hanging down, which could be a concern in some environments, like a passenger seat, however I was able to secure my scope equally well with a second loop inside the wings (basically the same way I made it fit into my 5.11 pocket) where there was no dangling loop to catch on anything. This would make it very slightly slower to re-secure (having to wrap the scope before clipping), but if you're worried about it catching it will eliminate the loop. I'll post a photo of my method shortly. Overall, the Batclip seems to be an incredibly well built, solid stethoscope clip that does exactly what it's designed to -- holds your scope in place regardless of what you're doing. In that sense it might be a one-trick pony, but if you're an Paramedic, EMT, RN, or ER Doc, that's one trick that you, your neck, and your pockets will really appreciate! Update after about a month of solid use: Works great. The clip on the back is solid metal, well made, and holds well to your belt. The wings secure solidly and I have had no problems with the scope sliding or coming out. The only potential issue is that the Batclip can slide on your belt if you wear an especially thin belt. It's made to fit about a 2" belt and will stay in place quite solidly on that. If you wear a 1.25" belt it may be prone to sliding, depending on where you position it. If so it's not a terribly difficult fix, either adjusting how to clip it on, wearing a slightly thicker belt, or clipping it to both your belt and pants will all stop the sliding. Overall it's held up excellently during a month of solid 911 shifts.

27,000hrs of use and counting
Looking back I have had this for 13 years now. Most of that time I have worked 3-4 12hr shifts on acute care hospital floors. For the last almost two years I have worked 12-17 12 hour nights shifts in a row basically 2 weeks on and 1 week off. This has held up great. That is over 27,000hrs of use. Pretty darn good and the price is basically unchanged. The Velcro needs changed out and I will do that soon but it still works. I believe that has helped my stethoscopes last longer. I have used a Littmann Master Cardiology and more often a Littmann Cardiology IV with an Echo amplifier. These are on the heavier side compared to many stethoscopes. Tubing of both still in great shape. I wear Duluth Trading Firehose carvas cargo pants and just hook it on the hammer loop on the side. Works great for me. I have never had a stethoscope stolen because I never set it down. Thank you for making a great product.

Amazing Quality and Awesome Service
I used the Batclip essentially throughout all of residency. Very convenient, I will likely continue to use it for the duration of my medical career. I have never lost my stethoscope like the rest of my colleagues. Frees up a pocket for storing additional tools/stuff. Nevertheless, there are certain recurrent criticisms that are evident though if you sort through the critical reviews. 1) Velcro. Very easy to open shut and hold snug, but it will definitely wear out. In fact, My old one stopped working due to the Velcro wearing out after about 3 years, but Wild Tree Designs shipped me out a new one and I sent my old Batclip back in. Excellent customer service. I think that all things considered I would prefer for Wild Tree Designs to keep the Velcro design. 2) The clip itself. If you sort the reviews they all say some iteration of "the clip hurts me". I assume these are doctors/RNs/EMTs that wear it on a scrub. I myself wear it on a belt and I never encounter these issues. I do notice that it tends to leave an indent on my belt, but this only became an issues after 3 years too and I just bought a new belt for 15 bucks Summary: Solid product. Amazing service. Keep a reasonable expectation of what you are buying. For its price this is the best on the market.

Pretty good stethoscope clip
This is a very functional, helpful product. I much prefer this method of carrying my stethoscope over carrying it around my neck or in my pocket. I definitely recommend purchasing this product. Pros: Clips on pants with or without belt. Easy to place and remove stethoscope. Helps to extend the life of the stethoscope tubing since it won't be in contact with skin oil all day. Cons: Not confident in the longevity of the velcro material. I've worn mine one to two times per week for about a month. Velcro holds well, but I already feel that I have to reinforce the hold by massaging it shut. I don't feel confident that it will hold if I just shut it without pressing it extra. That being said, my stethoscope hasn't fallen out and I think it is helpful to wear. Time will tell if the velcro material will last as long as others. The price is a little higher than other clips. This can be overlooked since the material is better, but in light of my previous "con", I think that it should be a little cheaper. $30 isn't bad, but I feel like $20 would have been more appropriate for the quality of material used.

Batclip is the only one that WORKS!!!
The ONLY stethoscope holder that works!! I used to drape my stethoscope over my neck, until I had an expensive high quality one (and WORTH IT) actually crack on the tubing because it was always around my neck in contact with my skin oils. I only ever even kept it around my neck because NONE of the stethoscope clips i had tried even work! (The plastic ones) NOT A SUNGLE ONE WORKS!! (If it’s plástic? Don’t waste your $$). Bat lip is the ONLY ONLY ONE that works with EVERY single stethoscope I’ve EVER owned. It actually PISSES ME OFF that the stethoscope clip world has started to COPY batclip! I see 2 or 3 out there now on Amazon which seem comparable (and probably do work), but since WildTree is first in my book, I will NOT buy the one which is 51cents cheaper, nor will I buy the one I just saw which is a few bucks cheaper. Wild Tree deserves my loyalty for making the best product while mass-merchants make clips that LOOK like they’re work but NEVER do well, no matter the stethescope. The batclip is the first one I ever found that actually makes ANY sense, and not only that, I believe it’s STILL hand made! (Right?) I’ve had my batclip (and shears-holder - awesome titanium shears!) a year or more now with almost DAILY use (between jobs - I only get every other weekend off. Though I even use it on days off sometimes with my daughter, or my bff’s sick kids). There is no way in HECK that I’ll EVER buy any other stethoscope holder from someone else - even if it’s similar & cheaper. The similar ones might not even last as long. My batclip looks and performs just as well as it’s first day in service. LONG LIVE BATCLIP!!. I’m even thinking of buying a large batch for my 22 graduating students this May, and maybe for all my hospital coworkers on PM shift this Christmas (if I can make ends meet well enough) Im for-SURE getting it for close nursing/medical friends & family this year at the very least. ***batclip is WORTH IT!!!*** Do NOT waste $$ on plastic clips for 12.99... your stethescope will never seat in them. #batclip

Amazing
I am a physician, and I am very prone to headaches. I hate wearing anything around my neck as even a tiny weight can give me nasty tension headaches. I can't stand to wear a white coat or even a stethoscope around my neck. For a couple of years I tried to suck it up, then carried my stethoscope in my hand or over one shoulder - all terrible options. I tried the cheap hip holster I'd gotten for free somewhere, but the hard plastic shape is impossible to actually clip on your waistband and it's surprisingly tricky to get your stethoscope in and out of those things. Enter the Batclip. I found out about them when a colleague of mine strutted into work one day with one on his hip. It looked professional, functional, and comfortable, and I was sold immediately. I bought one that day and loved it just as much as I thought I would - it's easy to use, the clip works well on scrubs or slacks with or without a belt, it looks good, and it is entirely reliable - all of that a must for a busy day in medicine! It held up well under heavy use (seeing 20-60 pts per day, 3-6 days per week in various settings) for about five years, but gradually the velcro just wore completely out. I don't fault the manufacturer for that since velcro will always wear out eventually. I contemplated buying more heavy duty velcro and trying to fix it since the leather and clip were still in good condition, but laziness won out and I recently bought my second one. I love it just as much as the first. The only thing I wonder about is if a snap might make the product even more durable. All in all, though, I love these and plan to have one forever. Thanks for a great product!

Worth EVERY Penny!
I am utterly thrilled with the quality of this product! This product’s description from the seller is as accurate as I’ve ever seen. When I first donned my first stethoscope around my neck back in nursing school I was so proud - I mean, I looked just like a “real” nurse. Fast forward a few years as a busy nurse on a chronically under-staffed Ortho-Neuro unit, and I found that I didn’t care what a “real” nurse looked like because I found my stethoscope to be consistently finding its way to the floor as I would take off sprinting toward a bed alarm. In addition, there are several other opportunities we find for bending and stopping while performing our tasks. Too many times I found my stethoscope hanging in my way or annoying me in some other fashion. Eventually, I decided to give a belt clip a shot, and I am very glad I did. I absolutely prefer carrying my stethoscope on my belt. I wear it on my left, lateral hip and I store it just the way the company’s video suggests. I very, very infrequently ever get the “loop” caught on anything. In general, I feel much less annoyed with my stethoscope. In fact, I prefer the belt carry so much that I’ve started carrying several of my “tools” on a tactical belt, thus freeing up that ever-valuable pocket space. Anyhow, after just a little research I was sold. The Batclip really had me with its apparent long-standing reputation for quality craftsmanship and material selection, evolution of product, and unbeatable customer service. Of note, I’ll ALWAYS buy American made when available, so that was another obvious selling point in the Batclip’s favor. But the nail in the coffin was when I began to read customer reviews and found that the physician who created/designed the Batclip is actively responding to customers online to this day through Amazon and ensuring they are properly cared for. I think that’s the ABSOLUTE GOLD STANDARD of customer service! I was floored! I didn’t even put in my cart, I just hit the “buy now” option. I’m glad I did!

Awkward to use
I'm an OR anesthesiologist, and by profession I need to be able to auscultate immediately without delay. I previously used the plastic beltclip that other people have given poor reviews. PROs: Looks cool, durable. May be beter suited for non-OR personnel. Stethoscope does not fall out as often when changing position (standing to sitting) compared to its plastic predecessor. CONS: The metal clip portion can hurt if you're sliding it onto your scrubs in the dark! However, this may just be an issue from one batclip to another. The seller is earnest and willing to replace the batclip should the clip or fit be "too tight." The biggest problem with stethoscope belt clips is that they create a dangerous loop that can be caught on virtually anything (IV poles and tubing, EKG leads, door handles, stretcher knobs, and the list goes on...). This is also true, if not more so, for the alternative cheaper plastic holder. CONCLUSION: If speed of access is the issue (i.e. ruling out mainstem intubations, pneumothoraces, etc.) the best thing to do with your stethoscope is keep it around your neck (never gets hooked, takes 1 second to grab it), or in your white coat pocket. However,as the seller points out in his original reply to this review, there is risk of contaminiation with airway secretions, etc. if you are leaning over your patient. The BATCLIP allows for acceptable speed of access, prevents contaminations, and allows for a tight fit with thhe bell and ear pieces to prevent further looping or falling out of the stethscope.
