Unsure on results
Got results back for dog. We knew her mum was a shih-tzu but was unsure on father. We've been told from different vets possibly jack russle, King Charles spaniel, and other small breeds. She's a small dog and we did test out of curiosity. Results were 1/3 whippet, 1/3 bulldog, and rest was a mix of of labrador retriever, poodle, and beagle. We emailed about the results, but the assured us it was correct. Not sure what to think on this...

Wish I’d done this sooner!
For the 5 years I’ve had her, I’d always assumed my dog was allergic to environmental things like pollen so when she appeared to be having a bad reaction in the middle of winter I knew it couldn’t be that. She has always been on a grain free, raw diet but this reaction followed a couple of months of intensive training with a lot of grain free training treats. So I suspected they were the culprit. She was scratching like mad, making herself bleed, and had lost fur around her eyes. It was when she’d chewed her paws so badly that she couldn’t walk for a week (needing boots/socks afterwards) that I realised we should try an allergy test. Even though it was a bit of a gamble, if it worked, the cost would far outweigh the medication costs usually prescribed by the vet.In the past my itchy dog has been on various types of medication, eg. Antihistamines, apoquel, medicated shampoos and nothing worked. Vets were sceptical about allergy testing and I’d let myself be talked of it due to the cost. The affinity test was much cheaper than anything I’d been offered at a vet so I thought it was worth a punt.Using the test was ok, although I needed someone to help. Ideally one person to hold the dog with the syringe sponge in her mouth and another person to hold up a delicious treat to make her salivate. The test circle didn’t go completely red for us, just red around the edges. We rang Affinity and they assured us that would be fine. The results came back in 3.5 weeks and they were mind blowing! They stated she was reactive to ant bites (which we had once had to get vet treatment for), salmon, chicken, turkey (all of which were in her training treats), flaxseed oil (which was in an anti itch skin supplement I’d been giving her), green peas, white rice, corn and rosemary! We cut out anything with those ingredients in and stuck to the things she hadn’t reacted to in the test and, one month later, her skin is the best it’s ever been. It’s taken that time to see the difference but it’s so much quicker than trying a food elimination diet over several months and cheaper of course than multiple prescriptions of useless medications.

Easy to use dog saliva allergy test kit
Dog had swollen paws with sores. Antibiotics worked for a while but we wanted to find the cause. The vet was charging £300 - £500 for allergy tests so we thought we would try this one for £85. The test kit was easy to use but the dog didn't have much saliva to soak the swab so you have to keep trying until the spot on the swab stick turns red (I also added a couple of drops of water as they said you could do that too when you need to squeeze the swab into the tube containing liquid) we sent the test back within the 24 hours they recommended by signed for post and they acknowledged receipt. The results of 114 different foods and things came back via email after one week and it was very easy to understand. We are now eliminating certain foods and trying to keep the dog away from feathers, time will tell but we hope this will be the cure for him.

Worth it!
Our vet suggested a possible allergy when we had some skin and ear problems, but said there was little else to do other than an elimination diet. I didn't want to spend potentially months trying to figure it out while our dog was in pain, so I decided this was worth a shot. Admittedly, I was dubious.Getting enough saliva from our sub 3kg pup was the hardest part of this... But worth it in the end. We got our results within the three week time frame and found out that she had a total of 13 things to avoid. The results were really clear and consise.Since cutting all of these from her diet she's already been so much better.Well worth the £90.

Useful Allergy Test
Bought this as our dog had been put on apoquel and a hypoallergenic diet due to frequent ear infections and itchy skin. The results came back within 2 weeks and it listed chicken and beef as the main culprits so we've cut them out and there's definitely been an improvement. We did the test in January and have now stopped the apoquel and so far, so good! To be honest I wasn't expecting much but thought it was worth trying for less than £100 and I've been really pleased. It's definitely good value for money, especially when compared to what we'll save on vet bills and medication.

Easy to use and fairly quick results
So happy to have found out what the issue was with my dog's upset stomach (had trouble keeping breakfast/dinner down) turns out he was highly allergic to pork and partially/may have a reaction to salmon - the very same type of oil that was recommended for my dogs breed (French Bulldog) to help with flatulence and digestion, good to know :-) after removing the offending salmon oil and any pork treats from his diet there hasn't been any issue.

Don’t waste your money
Update 2021 - please do not use saliva or hair allergy tests because they are not regulated and are not accurate as I found out. My dog is under a dermatology vet and has been on an appropriate treatment and is doing really well. Had I relied on the results from this test I would’ve made my dog very poorly as the results massively conflicted with the gold standard skin and blood allergy testing.******************************Was really excited about this test as my dog had already had a blood and saliva intolerance test done but this one was offering a more extensive test of food groups.Sadly it was quite disappointing as it conflicted with results I’d previously had for some same food groups. On a previous saliva test with another company a particular food was showing as highly intolerant yet with this one it was showing as no intolerance. I just couldn’t take the risk as my dog had been quite poorly for the 8 months I’d had him. This test does not give a breakdown of the levels of intolerance as a previous test I’d had done did.
