I couldn't be without my Video Colorchecker Passport, but I'd been wishing that I had a bigger mid grey card, so I bought this to replace the focus card in the Passport that I never used. Just stuck it in with some very thin double sided adhesive tape, brilliant. Others have said it's of poor construction and how flimsy it is, but I just can't imagine that it was intended to be used outside of the case.

The job specification for this product is fairly limited: It has to take only light that we can see and reflect the correct amount of each; and, it has to be able to last quite a few years without discolouring. The colour balance on this product is excellent and shining an ultraviolet torch at it reveals that it does not have a fluorescent brightening agent (FBA) in the surface so if you are using it in light with a UV content, it will not skew the colour balance. Some grey balance cards - especially the plastic ones - have FBAs in the plastic because it is just normal plastic and the FBA creates the illusion that yellowing has not occurred over time. Physically, this product is woefully inadequate. If you are looking for a grey card that you can take with you on shoots, put it in your pocket and use it in the rain, this is not for you. The construction is flimsy and it appears to be made from card which I suspect will be a low acid card so that yellowing does not occur. If have resorted to keeping it in the pocket at the back of my hard cover note book. For the uninitiated, use is simple: put the card in the light that your photographic subject is illuminated by; select the user defined white balance; press 'Select White Set'; aim the defined area so that the card fills it; and, press 'Set'. The above is for Leica but they don't vary much from camera to camera. Overall, this product has excellent colour balance but it suffers from inadequate build quality.
