Big Performance at a Value Price
The media could not be loaded. I don't know why I wasted all my time and money with refillable torches. I am so glad I finally found the Mubye canister powered torch, because it delivers what smaller torched can't. For starters, a smaller torch is a pain to fill and can't begin to contain 8 oz of butane nor the run time of a Mubye canister. Furthermore, should you run out of butane, it takes only seconds to swap out an empty for a full canister. What makes the Mubye different from most other canister torches is the provided stand that stabilizes the torch as it empties and becomes top heavy. Only the sumilar Iwatani torch, priced 4 times as much, provides a stabizing stand. Other inexpensive torches that look like the Mubye, don't.So how does the Mubye stack up against its more expensive competitors in terms of performance. The Mubye lights every time and puts out a wide blue flame that can be focused down to an inch or extended out to a foot or more. There are several reviews that have mentioned that their torches failed to light either right out of the box, or within days. I did discover what might be causing these failures. If the flame adjustment collar is turned fully to the broad more yellow flame setting, the torch will not ignite. So if you are having ignition difficulties, be certain that that that collar is turned completely counterclockwise. (Once lit, there is no problem turning that adjuster the other way if you need a softer more yellow flame.)I like that the torch will operate in any direction with the size flame remaining steady, as long as you are careful to allow the torch to heat up for a minute before turning it.I bought my torch primarily to light my charcoal grill. It does that exceedingly well. I also enjoy searing steaks on the grill outside. (BTW, when you do this, be sure to use the outer portion of the flame, beyond the blue conical portion, closer in. In so, doing you will avoid adding a butane taste to the meat.)While you can use the torch indoor to sear meat, there is a good chance of setting off a smoke alarm. A smaller torch might not do this, because it takes much longer to sear meat with a less wide flame and smoke is not produced as quickly. The only limitation I can see with this torch or any other canister powered torch is the larger flame may not be suited for focused soldering jobs such as needed with electronics. There a small refillable micro torch is more appropriate. Still, the canister torch will work fine or excel with plumbing or larger soldering needs. In summary, for cooking use in the kitchen or outside lighting wood or charcoal, or larger soldering jobs, the Mubye torch does a great job at a very reasonable price. Unlike other look alikes, it is the only inexpensive canister powered torch that provides a canister stand for free. So why spend more for less? One may ask will this torch hold up with heavy usage and for how long? I can't yet answer that question, since I have owned mine for only a short time. Still, it appears to be well made and should be durable, if one takes a few precautions:1. Be careful not to drop the torch or not to tighten the gas flow control dial beyond its limits, because it can break if turned too far.2. Keep the inside of the flame output spout clean, free of food debris, soot, etc.. It Is essential for dependable ignition.3. While the torch can be operated in any position, avoid using the torch in a straight down position close to food, charcoal, etc. for more than a couple of minutes at a time. The flame can be reflected back into the outflow spout and damage the igniter or other internal torch parts. Taking these precautions should prolong the useful life of this, or any other torch. Are you still worried about durability?Be assured, that as long as you don't abuse it, your torch is warrantied for a full year. Remember to register it with the seller, and get an additional year of protection, 2 years total.BTW, the seller is very responsive to your concerns. Warranties, no matter how long, are worthless without that.

Super versatile torch
The media could not be loaded. This new torch is great. Fully adjustable flame in both strength and intensity, a simple click to start trigger, and a stabilizing base for extra safety. Definitely a great value. Fits almost any size butane canister, makes perfect for any occasion.

Prefered over a propane torch!
This torch is much more manageable than a propane torch for kitchen use. I also prefer using the large disposable butane cans rather than the refillable kitchen torches. I always have these cans on hand for a small butane stove and they last quite a long time with this torch. The output control is easy to adjust and the piezoelectric igniter makes it super easy to operate. The base is a nice touch to keep the torch from falling over.Highly recommend!

Make Tasty Things with MUBYE Torch for Butane
The media could not be loaded. I really heart the MUBYE Torch for butane canister.I decided on this model because there are a lot of choices to go through but since it had good reviews included a stand and a reasonable price. It said Japanese, but no surprise it’s made in China. It works great and super simple to use.Now I can make my cheater crème brûlée everyday! I will share this simple recipe with you gentle reader.1/2 c meted vanilla ice cream, 1 egg yolk and sugar for caramelizing the top with MUBYE butane torch. After you melt ice cream, cool slightly then whip in egg yolk to fully incorporated.Pour into ceramic cups then place inside a brownie type pan that will hold enough hot water to bring up to about halfway of ceramic cup. (Bain Marie) Bake approx 45 min at 350. It will be jiggly but not colored. Cool down in pan, remove from the bain, Store in fridge till ready to serve. Sprinkle with sugar and torch the top. Careful, not too much, it’s powerful! BON APPETITE :-)

Works well but leaks gas
The torch was good flame was strong easy to adjust and pop on and off the butane tank easy.Cons: After using it I stored it away in a pantry closet. The next day I opened up the pantry to grab something I smelled butane. I picked up the torch and if you sniff at the seam where the torch attaches to the tank you can smell gas. This can be extremely dangerous if I stored this near my stove.Because of this, I will be retuning it for a refundI can not recommend this because of the gas leaking issues
