DMXking eDMX2 PRO – Ethernet DMX Adapter 2 Universe PoE/USB (3-Pin)

This is an excellent product and I got this to use with Soundswitch DMX software to automate the programming of my band’s lighting using the Autoscript feature to tracks of our music. It worked fine with Soundswitch until version 2.3 came out, then it simply does not work at all. I had to downgrade Soundswitch in order to regain use of this product again. I bought this knowing there was a less expensive model available but felt like the ether on port might come in handy and thought the more expensive product would be built with more features. To be fair, this exact product is not listed as being certified by Soundswitch which I should have paid more attention to before buying it. I talked to the creator of this product who is really helpful but he was confused on how this product doesn’t work for Soundswitch since the one certified by them shares all the same parts as this one.

I love this thing. This review contains mostly the gotchas, but do not misunderstand me, this thing is great, and I have quite a few of them. I highly recommend.Windows Only Setup/Firmware Upgrade. For those of us with professional rigs, using Windows seems like an ugly hack. However, the hardware is built solid, and coding for Windows and OSX for just a setup screen is an understandable oversight. So, I set all my settings, screen shot the pages, and now I work 100% without it.Slight learning curve to the Record/Playback Show feature. It is good, but not great. My flaw was mainly the program generating the code, not the fault of the DMXKing. I found myself creating my show, recording to the DMXKing, then downloading it from the device and using WireShark to selectively find the point in my show where it looped. I then exported only the right packets, saved it and uploaded it to the DMXKing. Worked.Don't forget, the "DMX Universe - 1 = the ArtNet Universe" (e.g. DMX Universe 3 = ArtNet Universe 2). I spent a few hours diagnosing sending packets to the wrong Universe :/

Very early days but am using this with Martin M-PC (now Onyx). Tested with M-PC and was able to output to both universes. Will be testing with ONYX shortly. For sure, this is an amazing deal. I originally bought an ENTECC MKII Pro, I wish I had just bought this as you get 2 universes out of the box over ARTNET with M-PC. Not as easy to figure out ARTNET with the ENTECC

Great little box. Works great once you configure it. Powers up over USB or POE. Just get your IP range right (if your using a switch) or turn on DHCP if your using a router and you'll be in business.

Effortless network connectivity. Set to 10.0.0.0/16 subnet and set ETC EOS to secondary artnet and instant DMX! Connected to Cisco 3750x switch and 2911 router. Couldnt be more happy!
